He started all but the season opener this season. Jensen earned Valley Player of the Week honors after helping USD rack up 560 yards in a win against Cal Poly in the season opener. He worked with both a new punter and kicker this season in Bickle and Eddie Ogamba. The Coyotes led the Valley and ranked in the top-10 nationally in net punting (39 ypp).   2022 ALL-MISSOURI VALLEY FOOTBALL FIRST TEAM: LB Stephen Hillis, South Dakota, Jr.,...Hillis (Hartington, Nebraska) led the Valley and ranked fourth nationally with 114 tackles from his middle linebacker position. He led the Coyotes with 8.0 tackles-for-loss and 4.0 sacks. He also forced two fumbles and was credited with six pass breakups. It was the fewest points scored by the Bears this season and it came one week after Missouri State totaled 64 points in a win against Western Illinois.   Aidan Bouman's two touchdown passes staked South Dakota to a 17-point lead to start the fourth quarter and the Coyotes held off a Missouri State rally to take a 20-13 Missouri Valley Conference victory on Saturday. Bouman's 44-yard touchdown pass to Wesley Eliodor put South Dakota up, 13-7 heading into intermission, and his 23-yard strike to Carter Bell made it a 20-3 lead with 2:19 left in the third quarter. Jason Shelley led the Bears (3-6, 1-5) on a 13-play, 67 yard drive capped by his short pass to Naveon Mitchell with 11:01 left, but they could only managed a Jose Pizano 37-yard field goal late to cut into the South Dakota lead. Bouman completed 17 of 25 passes for 235 yards. Eliodor caught six passes for 97 yards for South Dakota (3-6, 2-4). Shelley was 23 of 38 passing for 233 yards. - South Dakota/AP College Football

He led USD to 10 points on his first two drives to close the gap to 21-17 and helped USD march 41 yards inside of five minutes to go to setup the game-winning field goal. He forced a fumble in the first quarter that was recovered and returned to the SIU 6 for a short touchdown drive. He picked off Nic Baker for his first collegiate interception with five minutes to go in the fourth quarter and USD drove down and kicked the game-winning field goal.   Shomari Lawrence and Travis Theis both ran for 100 yards and South Dakota defeated Southern Illinois 27-24 on Saturday after trailing by two touchdowns in the second quarter. Eddie Ogamba's 44-yard field goal with 2:31 remaining in the fourth quarter gave the Coyotes their first lead of the game and the Salukis went a quick four-and-out on their only remaining possession.

South Dakota had two second half touchdowns, one a Wesley Eliodor 15-yard pass from Aidan Bouman, the other a 29-yard run by Lawrence to tie the score. Southern Illinois built a 21-7 second-quarter lead on a short touchdown run by Javon Williams and two touchdown passes from Nic Baker. Lawrence had 122 yards on 11 carries and Theis added 108 yards on 21 carries for South Dakota (2-5, 1-3 Missouri Valley). Southern Illinois (5-3, 4-1) got 100 yards on the ground from Romeir Elliott but Baker averaged only 4.4 yards per pass attempt, completing 28 of 43 for 190 yards. - South Dakota/AP College Football

The junior tied his season-high for tackles and helped secure the victory when he broke up a pass on the final play of the game as UA was driving for the tying score.
