He led the league in sacks (9.0) and tackles for loss (14.0) in San Diego's 10-game schedule. Kapapa posted 10 tackles for loss and 5.5 sacks in just seven league outings, ranking second and fifth in those respective categories.   Judd Erickson threw two first-half touchdown passes and San Diego beat Morehead State 14-9 Saturday in the season finale for both teams. Erickson completed 14 of 27 passes for 174 yards with two interceptions. Vance Jefferson caught a 7-yard TD pass from Erickson that capped a 10-play, 96-yard drive that took nearly six minutes off the clock and opened the scoring late in the first quarter. Re-al Mitchell - who had 10 carries for 66 yards rushing - scored on a 3-yard reception to give San Diego (5-5, 4-3 Pioneer League) a 14-0 lead just before halftime.   Judd Erickson threw for two touchdowns, Re-al Mitchell ran for two scores and San Diego defeated Davidson 31-14 on Saturday. Erickson connected with Christian Brown for an 8-yard score on the opening drive of the game and Mitchell burst through the middle for a 75-yard touchdown for a 14-7 lead after one quarter. Mitchell, who had 127 yards on 12 carries, capped an 86-yard drive with a two-yard plunge and Aidan Lehman's 39-yard field goal as time expired put the Toreros (3-5, 3-3 Pioneer Football League) up 24-7 at halftime. Erickson, who was 22-of-30 passing for 258 yards found Rhyle Hanson for a 7-yard TD, the only score of the third quarter. He finished the game with four tackles (all solo) and had another pass breakup in the outing.   OCT 10 PIONEER FOOTBALL SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Hunter Nichols, San Diego (Gr., S, Los Angeles, California),...Nichols' 98-yard kickoff return for a touchdown helped San Diego secure a 22-10 PFL victory at Drake, Saturday. Moments after Drake closed to within five points with a touchdown, Nichols returned the ensuing kickoff for an insurance touchdown. He finished the day with three kick returns totaling 136 yards. San Diego (3-3, 2-1 Pioneer Football League) grabbed a 7-0 lead after one quarter on Joshua Hong's 28-yard interception return. Erickson extended the Toreros' advantage to 14-0 at halftime with a 9-yard scoring toss to Derek Kline. Erickson hooked up with Michael Carner for a 37-yard touchdown in the third quarter after a lengthy weather delay, and added a 5-yard touchdown toss to Vance Jefferson in the fourth to cap the scoring.   Hunter Nichols returned a kickoff 98 yards early in the fourth quarter and San Diego turned back Drake 22-10 on Saturday. The Bulldogs closed within 15-10 with a 14-yard touchdown run by Ian Corwin one play after teammate Zach Drummond recovered a muffed punt. That's when Nichols took the ensuing kickoff straight ahead, avoided a couple tacklers and then cut to the left sideline and raced to the end zone. The Toreros (2-3 1-1 Pioneer Football League) had built their lead with a short Chris Childers runs, a pair of Aidan Lehman field goals and Jagger Pagano's sack for a safety.   Mason Randall threw for three touchdowns and San Diego defeated Stetson 41-16 on Saturday to gain a share of its conference-tying 12th Pioneer League title. Toreros (7-4, 7-1) tied with Davidson atop the Pioneer League though Davidson receives the conference's automatic bid to the FCS playoffs, having handed San Diego its lone league loss. San Diego, which won its seventh straight game, built a 27-0 halftime lead on its way to its ninth victory without a loss in its series with the Hatters (3-7, 2-6). Randall was 21 of 31 for 337 yards. Christian Brown had six catches for 109 yards and a score. Ja'seem Reed and Vance Jefferson also caught TD passes. Emilio Martinez rushed for 132 yards on 17 carries and a score and Terrence Smith also had a rushing TD. Justin Agner threw for 195 yards with an interception for Stetson.   Mason Randall threw for one touchdown and ran for the decisive score, the San Diego defense allowed just 57 total yards and the Toreros rallied to defeat Valparaiso 21-14 on Saturday. Randall's 15-yard run and subsequent two-point conversion pass with 1:15 remaining in the fourth quarter gave the Toreros (5-4, 5-1 Pioneer Football League) their first lead of the game. Back in the first quarter, it was Randall's pass that was intercepted by Jamauri Jackson and returned 83 yards for a touchdown and a 14-0 lead for Valparaiso (2-6, 2-3). San Diego's defense made the comeback possible, holding the Beacons to 14 yards over the final three quarters.

The Beacons' Ben Nimz completed 2 of 16 passes for 2 yards and was sacked four times. Ben Washington carried 15 times for 64 yards, 28 coming on a touchdown run that gave Valpo a 7-0 lead in the first quarter. After Jackson's pick-6, Randall hit Emilio Martinez for a 45-yard touchdown pass and Brandon Eickert kicked two field goals to draw the Toreros within 14-13 at halftime, a score that stood until deep into the fourth quarter. - San Diego/AP College Football
