  09/14 WEEK 2 NEC DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Jake Lopinto, Robert Morris, Linebacker, Sophomore, 6-1, 235 lbs., Columbus, OH/Licking Heights (Florida A&M), Last Week's Stats: 9 tackles (4 solo), 1.0 tackle-for-loss (2 yards), 1 forced fumble,...Lopinto became the second Colonial this season to take home NEC/Atlantic Tomorrow's Office Defensive Player of the Week distinction, joining fellow linebacker Khalil Hunter, who earned the honor after a season-opening win over Wagner. Lopinto put up solid numbers against FBS opponent Akron, registering a career-high nine tackles, including four solo stops. In addition, the Columbus, OH native and Florida A&M transfer, who added 1.0 tackles-for-loss, forced a fumble that was recovered by the Colonials on the Zips' opening drive. The junior kicker averaged 45.0 yards on five punts for 225 total yards. Registering a touchback following a 58-yard blast in the third quarter, the Keystone State product placed one inside the 20-yard line on a 37-yarder. His 58-yard boot is currently the third-longest punt in the NEC this season while his 372 total punt yards on the year rank second on the circuit.   AUG 31/WEEK 0 NEC OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Galen Combs, Robert Morris, Wide Receiver, Sophomore, 6-2, 190, Cincinnati, OH/Withrow (Charleston), Week Zero Stats: 3 TD (2 offensive), 104 receiving yards, 4 receptions, 26.6 yards per reception, 22 punt return yards (blocked punt and recovery for TD),...Combs stole the show in Robert Morris' season debut at Wagner on Saturday, a matchup that also served as the first NEC game of the 2026 campaign. The sophomore wide receiver accounted three of the Colonials' four touchdowns to help his team cruise to the commanding 28-7 win. Combs, who closed out the day with a career-high - and league-leading - 104 receiving yards on four catches, set the tone early when he blocked a punt, recovered it and returned it 22 yards for a first-quarter score. Later in the game, the Cincinnati native gave Robert Morris a 21-7 cushion with 2:03 left in the third after he hauled in a 64-yard touchdown pass from Carson Haggard. Combs put the game away in the fourth quarter, delivering his third score of the day on a 15-yard pass with 5:35 to go in the fourth. He is the first Colonial to garner NEC Offensive Player of the Week distinction on Opening Weekend since two-time All-NEC First Team running back Sam Dorsett did so in 2003. - NEC Football

  AUG 31/WEEK 0 NEC DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Khalil Hunter, Robert Morris, Linebacker, Redshirt Senior, 6-1, 225, Miami, FL/St. Thomas Aquino's (Florida A&M), Week Zero Stats: 8 tackles (3 solo), 2.5 TFL (8 yards), 1.5 sacks (6 yards),...Hunter delivered a lockdown effort for a Robert Morris defense that did not concede a touchdown in Saturday's season-opening win at Wagner. With the Seahawks' lone score coming by way of a pick-6 in the second quarter, Hunter and the Colonials coasted to the 28-7 win in a game that also served as their first NEC contest of the 2026 campaign. Hunter, a redshirt senior linebacker from Miami, racked up a career-high eight tackles, including three solo stops, to go along with a league-leading 2.5 tackles-for-loss and 1.5 sacks. Thanks to the Floridian's contributions, Robert Morris limited Wagner to just 97 total yards of offense, six first downs and a 1-of-6 mark on third-down conversions. He is the first Colonial to earn NEC Defensive Player of the Week recognition since Oct. 28, 2024, when Jamar Shegog took home the honor. - NEC Football

  WEEK 10 NEC OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Ethan Shine, Robert Morris, Running Back, Junior, 5-10, 215 lbs., Doylestown, PA/Central Bucks East,...Week 10 Stats: 122 rushing yards, 28 rushes, 4.4 yards per rush,...For the second time in as many weeks, Shine ran for 100-plus rushing yards on Saturday to lead Robert Morris past Stonehill by a 20-17 final. The junior from Doylestown, PA, who ran for 123 yards in a Colonials' win at Saint Francis last month, racked up 122 more yards on 17 carries in his team's second-straight victory against an NEC squad. In nine games this season, Shine has rushed for 520 yard to rank fifth in the league rankings with 57.8 rushing yards per game. In addition, his four rushing scores this season are good for fifth in the conference. This is his first NEC/Atlantic Tomorrow's Office Offensive Player of the Week award this season, and the first for a Colonial. - NEC Football

  Ethan Shine had 123 yards rushing, including a key touchdown in the fourth quarter, and Robert Morris defeated Saint Francis 24-14 on Saturday. After a Saint Francis touchdown got the Red Flash within 17-14 in the fourth quarter, Owen McGraw returned the kickoff 49 yards to set up the Colonials with a short field. A 23-yard pass from Zach Tanner to Thomas Lee moved the ball to the 3-yard line and Shine's 3-yard touchdown run made it a two-score game in favor of Robert Morris. Tanner was 11 of 21 passing for 162 yards for the Colonials (2-6, 1-2 NEC). He had two touchdown passes, including a 42-yarder to Lee that gave Robert Morris a 17-7 lead early in the third quarter.

In the fourth, Saint Francis drove 80 yards capped by an 8-yard touchdown pass from Nick Whitfield Jr. to Jordan Theodore. It was five plays later that Shine's touchdown wrapped it up for the Colonials. Whitfield had 240 yards passing that included both touchdowns for Saint Francis (0-7, 0-3). Lee had 115 yards receiving for Robert Morris. The homecoming game for St. Francis marked the first of four in a row at home. - AP College Football

  WEEK 7 PFL DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Brandon Martin, Dayton (Sophomore (RS), Defensive End, Cincinnati, Ohio),...Martin filled in the stat sheet while leading a defensive effort that did not allow a point until the fourth quarter in a 41-10 victory at Valparaiso. He recorded six tackles (four solo), with 3.0 for a loss and the other three resulting in no gain, along with a sack, picked up a fumble recovery, and had a pass breakup on the day. Martin's sack came in the third quarter on a 3rd-and-13 in Dayton territory and helped force a punt. On the next Valparaiso drive, he landed on a lost fumble to halt another Valparaiso drive that had entered Dayton territory and helped flip the field position. - Pioneer Football League

  WEEK 2 NEC SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Jayson Jenkins, Robert Morris, Punter/Kicker, Gr, 5-11, 180 lbs., Monroeville, PA/Gateway, Last Week's Stats: 6 punts, 253 punting yards, 42.2 yards per punt, 52-yard long, 1 inside-20, 1 TB, 4 kickoffs, 259 kickoff yards, 64.8 yards per kickoff, 1 TB, 1-1 FG (46 yards)...Jenkins ran it back as the NEC/Atlantic Tomorrow's Office Special Teams Player of the Week after a busy - and impressive - Saturday at Youngstown State. The versatile left-footed kicker/punter averaged 42.2 yards per punt and 64.8 yards per kickoff after launching the ball 253 and 259 yards, respectively. Registering a 52-yard long punt while placing one inside the 20-yard marker, Jenkins was perfect in his lone field goal attempt, a 46-yarder that went down as a career-best boot for the graduate student.

A local product of Monroeville, PA, he became the first NEC player to repeat as the league's Special Teams Player of the Week since LIU's Will Lynch closed out the 2022 campaign with back-to-back honors. In addition, Jenkins is the first Robert Morris special teams' member to turn the weekly award trick in consecutive weeks since Dante Satcher accomplished the feat in 2015. On the season, Jenkins, who has converted on each of his two field goal attempts, is averaging 41.5 yards per punt to rank fifth in the league. - NEC Football

  Ethan Shine ran for 133 yards, Zach Tanner threw two short touchdown passes and Robert Morris defeated West Liberty 28-14 on Saturday night. Tanner threw a 10-yard touchdown pass to Thomas Lee, Donta Whack scored on a 2-yard run and Tanner connected with Jaqai Carter for a 4-yard score, giving the Colonials (1-2) a 21-0 lead before their Division II opponent got on the board late in the third quarter.

Shine scored on a 1-yard run on the first play of the fourth quarter for a 28-7 lead and Kohl Meisman's 10-yard pass to Levi Gullion got the Hilltoppers within 28-14 with about nine minutes remaining. After a long drive by Robert Morris ended in a lost fumble, Meisman was intercepted by Tyler Henry on West Liberty's next possession. Robert Morris then ran out the clock. Tanner attempted only nine passes and completed eight for 83 yards. Meisman was 20-of-34 passing for 219 yards, with the one touchdown and two interceptions.- AP College Football

  Tre Jordan III recovered a blocked punt in the end zone with 2:31 left in the third quarter and the play served as the game-winning score and Merrimack beat Stonehill 17-10 on Saturday. Kendal Sims broke through the line and blocked Randy Leavitt's punt attempt on fourth-and-10 with the Skyhawks at their own 20-yard line. A scramble ensued and Jordan fell on it in the end zone with 2:31 left in the third quarter. Merrimack (7-2, 5-0 Northeast Conference) rallied from a 10-point deficit to secure the win. Ty Edmonds Jr.'s 24-yard scoring run with 8:31 left in the third knotted it a 10. Stonehill (3-3, 1-3) had 20 first downs to 10 for Merrimack, outgained the Warriors in total yards 290-213 and held the ball 34:15 to 25:45 in time of possession.
