  02/17/21 - C.J. McWilliamsrSr/2022, Purdue, 5-11, 184 (DS#999 CB) + More +

Another transfer is joining Purdue's football program. C.J. McWilliams, who was part of Florida's program for five years, announced he's joining the Boilermakers as a graduate transfer. McWilliams posted his announcement on Instagram. McWilliams played in one game for the Gators in 2020 before opting out due to the coronavirus pandemic. The 5-foot-11, 183-pound McWilliams follows Ron English to Purdue. English is the program's new cornerbacks coach after spending three seasons at Florida. Offensive lineman Tyler Witt (Western Kentucky), linebacker Octavius Brothers (Auburn) and defensive lineman Joseph Anderson (South Carolina) have already joined the program as transfers and are scheduled to participate in spring practice, which begins Friday. McWilliams, who attended Southwest High School in Miami, doesn't bring a lot of experience to Purdue. Along with opting out of the 2020 season after one game, he missed the 2019 season due to a knee injury. - Journal and Courier

For the second time in as many days, Purdue has dipped into the transfer portal and secured a former player from the Southeastern Conference. Former South Carolina defensive lineman Joseph Anderson announced on Twitter he's transferring to join coach Jeff Brohm's program. Johnson entered his name into the portal earlier this week. Anderson played two seasons for South Carolina at strongside defensive end but appears to have the versatility to also play inside. The native of Murfreesboro, Tenn., appeared in one game during the 2019 season. He played in four games during the 2020 season, collecting three tackles. - Journal and Courier

The process of adding new faces to Purdue's football program began Sunday. Western Kentucky offensive lineman Tyler Witt announced he'll play his final season of eligibility with the Boilermakers. The Hilltoppers finished their season Saturday with a loss to Georgia State in the LendingTree.com Bowl. Witt, who entered the transfer portal earlier this month, did play in the bowl game. It was his 43rd start - and 50th career game - for the Hilltoppers, including 12 at left guard this season. He's coming to Purdue as a graduate transfer. The 6-foot-2, 305-pound Witt was recruited by Purdue coach Jeff Brohm, whose final season at Western Kentucky was in 2016. Witt, who attended Joliet Catholic High School in Illinois, redshirted that season. - Journal and Courier
