  Davis Alexander threw three touchdown passes and Idaho State turned the ball over five times as Portland State rolled to a 31-10 Big Sky Conference win on Saturday. Alexander hit Nate Bennett with a 44-yard touchdown pass on the Vikings' first possession and Malik Walker punched in from the 5 on their second to spark a 17-0 first-quarter lead. Alexander then hit Beau Kelly with a pair of touchdown passes to push the lead to 31-7 in the third quarter. Hunter Hays was 15 of 26 for 140 yards and hit Jared Scott with a 12-yard touchdown pass in the first quarter, but was picked off twice. The Bengals (1-5, 1-3) managed just 89 yards on the ground. Walker finished with 95 yards on 16 carries for Portland State (3-4, 2-2). Alexander was 17 of 29 for 179 yards. - AP College Football

  Beau Kelly set up the game-winning touchdown with a 30-yard punt return, and Davis Alexander cashed in with a 10-yard run to the end zone early in the fourth quarter as the Vikings earned their first Big Sky Conference win of the season, knocking off Southern Utah 20-13 on Saturday night. Noah Alejado put the Thunderbirds on top, 13-10 early in the third quarter with his second field goal of the game, this one from 29 yards out, but Gianni Smith converted a 28-yard kick to tie the game at 13-13 with 1:09 left in the quarter.

Alexander was 18-of-23 passing for 151 yards, but was picked off once. He carried eight times for 17 yards and a touchdown. Kelly caught seven passes for 59 yards. Jalynnee McGee carried seven times for 78 yards, and Malik Walker had 17 carries for 71 yards and a touchdown for Portland State (2-3, 1-1). Justin Miller was 15 of 23 for 179 yards passing to lead Southern Utah (1-4, 0-2), but the T-Birds managed just 88 yards on the ground on 31 carries.   Davis Alexander threw a pair of touchdown passes as Portland State knocked off Division II Western Oregon 21-7 on Saturday. Alexander engineered a nine-play, 90-yard drive in the first quarter, hitting Beau Kelly from nine-yards out for the game's first score. The pair combined on the Vikings' third touchdown, an 18-yard strike to cap a 12-play, 65-yard drive to take a 21-0 lead. Alexander was 23 of 37 for 295 yards, the two touchdowns and an interception to give the Vikings their first win in three starts. Malik Walker carried 18 times for 89 yards and scored a third-quarter touchdown on a 1-yard run.   CJ Jordan passed for two touchdowns and ran for another, Roshaun Johnson scored three times and the Idaho Vandals posted their first shutout victory since 2010 with a 68-0 win over Division II Simon Fraser in a season opener on Saturday. The 68 points were the most scored by the Vandals since a 79-30 victory over Weber State in 1994. They amassed Saturday's total behind an offense that outgained the Clan from Burnaby, British Columbia, 593-90.

Jordan threw for 161 yards on 7-of-12 passing and rushed for 61 yards including a 21-yard score. Mike Beaudry also saw time at quarterback and was 10 of 15 with 116 yards while rushing for 47. Hayden Hatten had 106 yards receiving including a 71-yard touchdown from Jordan. Johnson rushed for 87 yards including a 37-yard touchdown. All three of his rushing touchdowns came in the first half.   UW's wide receiver depth continues to dwindle. Redshirt junior wideouts Austin Osborne and Marquis Spiker have informed the Washington coaching staff of their decision to enter the transfer portal - Osborne's father, Jim Osborne, said Friday. He declined to comment further on their decision. By late Friday morning, Osborne and Spiker's names had been removed from UW's online roster. A Wildomar, California, native, Spiker recorded just three catches for 67 yards in 10 career games at UW - despite setting the California state record with 72 career receiving touchdowns at Murrieta High School in 2017. - Seattle Times

  On March 2, freshman quarterback Jaden Casey announced that he will be transferring away from Cal via his Twitter. Casey was a highly touted high school recruit in the 2020 cycle, garnering three-star ratings and offers from schools such as Alabama and Fresno State among others, the latter of which he ultimately decommitted from in favor of signing with the Bears. This leaves the Cal QB room a little less crowded, but still stout, with returning starter Chase Garbers along with Robby Rowell, Spencer Brasch and Zach Johnson still in the mix. - Daily Californian
