  Penn State football has lost one of its starting safeties to the 2021 NFL Draft. Senior Lamont Wade announced his decision to enter the draft Thursday evening from his personal Twitter account. Wade started 20 games for the Nittany Lions in his career, including seven in 2020 when he was named a team captain. In his final year he tallied 37 total tackles, two fumble recoveries and an interception. He closed out his time at Penn State with a 100-yard kick return touchdown in the team's season finale against Illinois. The safety was named All-Big Ten honorable mention by the coaches and media as a junior after 67 tackles, including 4.5 for loss, two sacks, five passes defended and three forced fumbles in 13 games. - Centre Times

  Penn State redshirt sophomore offensive tackle Rasheed Walker will return for the 2021 season, he announced via Twitter on Tuesday evening. The 6-foot-6, 310-pound Waldrof, Maryland, native started at left tackle in all nine games last season for the Nittany Lions. He played a pivotal role in helping the offensive line turn things around - the unit gave up 20 sacks through the team's 0-5 start to the season before surrendering only eight sacks in its final four games. - Centre Times

  Speculation Penn State could lose its most exciting offensive player to the NFL Draft ran rampant late this season. Jahan Dotson ended it Thursday. The all-Big Ten receiver announced he will to return to Happy Valley for his fourth season in the fall, looking to build off a breakout junior campaign and author a successful final chapter of his collegiate career. "I'll be back in 2021 to give y'all the summary," Dotson posted on Twitter.

Dotson was easily Penn State's most potent offensive weapon last season, when he caught 52 passes for 884 yards and eight touchdowns. He averaged 17 yards per catch, had five 100-yard receiving outputs in nine games and earned third-team all-conference honors. The junior saved his best performances for Penn State's biggest opponents. He caught three touchdown passes Oct. 31 against Ohio State; had eight catches for 139 yards against Iowa; and closed out the season with a 189-yard, two-touchdown effort against Illinois that also featured a 50-yard punt return. - Tribune Review

  One of Penn State's star players from last year is returning for another college football season. Receiver/returner Jahan Dotson announced on Thursday that he will not leave school early to enter the 2021 NFL Draft and will instead stay with the Lions for a fourth season in State College. Offensive coordinator Kirk Ciarrocca and special teams coordinator Joe Lorig must both be thrilled, as Dotson finished with 52 receptions for a Big Ten-best 884 yards and eight touchdowns in addition to a punt return score plus a few other strong efforts in that department. - Penn Live

  Tariq Castro-Fields is returning for another season at Penn State. The cornerback has announced on Twitter that he is coming back in 2021, taking advantage of the extra year of eligibility the NCAA has granted due to the coronavirus pandemic. Much was expected of Castro-Fields in 2020, but he appeared in just the season's first three games due to an undisclosed injury. The 6-foot-4, 235-pound Silver Spring, Maryland, native played three seasons for the Owls after redshirting in 2017, totaling 58 total tackles, 10.5 tackles for a loss, six sacks, three forced fumbles, one fumble recovery and one fumble recovery touchdown.   Penn State now has three additions from the transfer portal in the last month with the latest coming along the defensive line. Former Duke defensive tackle Derrick Tangelo will join the Nittany Lions' defensive tackle group for next season. Tangelo announced his decision to join the program via his personal Twitter account Tuesday afternoon. Tangelo should provide an instant impact for Penn State in the 2021 season. He was a starter at Duke in 2020 after making 17 starts in the previous two seasons. He finished the 2020 season with 31 total tackles, 7.5 tackles for a loss, five sacks, one pass defended and one forced fumble. Toney was named first-team All-Big Ten by the media, the conference's coaches and the Associated Press. For his career, Toney had 115 total tackles, 29.5 tackles for a loss, 19.5 sacks, four passes defended, four forced fumbles and one fumble recovered. The 6-foot, 212-pound Burlington, New Jersey, native played four seasons for the Bears, totaling 1,803 rushing yards and 17 touchdowns on 355 carries and 183 receiving yards and one touchdown on 29 catches. He is a former three-star recruit and was ranked the No. 506 overall player in the Class of 2017, according to 247Sports. Lovett only played in five games this season for Baylor due to injury. In 2020, he tallied 130 yards and a touchdown on 45 carries, while adding 49 yards and a touchdown on nine catches.
