The Sherwood Park, Alberta, native has already been named the Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year and a finalist for the Doak Walker Award. His 1,936 rushing yards this season mark the most ever for a Canadian player and rank as the No. 2 single-season rushing total in OSU history, trailing only Barry Sanders' historic 1988 Heisman season.   2019 ALL-BIG TEN HONORABLE MENTION (COACHES): Elijah Collins,...Collins is averaging a team-best 74.3 yards rushing per game (201 carries for 946 yards; 4.4 avg.), which ranks fifth in the Big Ten. His 74.3 ypg also ranks first in the conference and ninth in the country for freshman running backs. Collins leads the team with five rushing touchdowns. In his first career start at tailback on Sept. 7 against Western Michigan, Collins recorded 192 rushing yards on 17 carries, the second most by a Spartan freshman in a single game (Javon Ringer had 194 yards at Illinois in 2005).

In addition, Collins' 192 rushing yards were the most by a freshman starting running back in school history. Collins had three rushes of 20-plus yards (career-long 58-yarder in third quarter; 29-yarder on second play from scrimmage; 24-yarder in second quarter). Collins' 892 rushing yards are the most by a Spartan freshman since Sedrick Irvin had 1,067 as a true freshman in 1996. In addition, he is also the first Spartan freshman to record three 100-yard rushing games (192 vs Western Michigan, 170 vs. Illinois, 109 vs. Rutgers) since Ringer in 2005. Collins redshirted in 2018 and played a total of six offensive snaps in three games. - Michigan State Football

Chuba Hubbard is the second Oklahoma State player to garner Offensive Player of the Year, joining WR Justin Blackmon in 2010. Hubbard is just the fifth RB to receive the award, and first since 2002. James Lynch is the second Baylor defensive tackle to be named Defensive Player of the Year along with Andrew Billings in 2015. He and Billings are also the only two Bears to earn both Defensive Player and Defensive Lineman of the Year in the same season. Matt Rhule earned his first Chuck Neinas Big 12 Coach of the Year accolade in his third season with the Bears. Oklahoma has won the most individual awards in the 23-year history of the Big 12 with 46. K-State is second (34), followed by Texas (31), Oklahoma State (21), Baylor (18), Iowa State (14), TCU (9), Kansas (8), Texas Tech (8) and West Virginia (7). - Big 12 Football

  11/25/19 - Dru BrownrSr/2020, Oklahoma State, 5-11, 194 (DS#999 QB) + More +

NOV 25 BIG 12 NEWCOMER OF THE WEEK: Dru Brown, QB, R-Sr., Oklahoma State,...In his first career start for the Cowboys, Brown led Oklahoma State to a seven-point road win at West Virginia. He finished 22-of-29 passing (75.9%) for 196 yards and two touchdowns with zero interceptions.   Dru Brown threw two touchdown passes in his first start, Chuba Hubbard surpassed 100 yards rushing for the ninth consecutive game and No. 22 Oklahoma State beat West Virginia 20-13 on Saturday. Brown and national rushing leader Hubbard generated just enough offense for the Cowboys (8-3, 5-3 Big 12, No. 21 CFP), who won their fourth straight. Hubbard ran 26 times for 106 yards, far below his 173-yard average, but he showed off his receiving skills. He took a screen pass and ran 46 yards to set up Oklahoma State's first touchdown. Hubbard finished with seven catches for 88 yards, both career highs. Hubbard entered the game with 82 receiving yards all season and Oklahoma State coach Mike Gundy had emphasized earlier in the week he didn't throw to Hubbard that often out of fear of injury.

Brown marched Oklahoma State the length of the field early in the fourth quarter, hitting Dillon Stoner with a 2-yard scoring pass for a 17-13 lead. West Virginia (4-7, 2-6) didn't have as much luck inside the red zone. The Mountaineers couldn't convert on three plays from the 1-yard line in the second quarter and they twice had to settle for short field goals. Leddie Brown converted a fourth-and-1 from the Oklahoma State 18 with 2:37 left in the game. But Jarret Doege threw three incompletions, the Mountaineers turned the ball over on downs and Oklahoma State ran out the clock. Doege finished 28 of 38 for 307 yards. - Oklahoma State/AP College Football

Chuba Hubbard ran for 122 yards and two touchdowns, and No. 25 Oklahoma State rolled past Kansas 31-13 on Saturday. Hubbard, the nation's rushing leader, also caught two passes for 42 yards. Dillon Stoner caught five passes for a career-high 150 yards and two touchdowns and Spencer Sanders passed for 168 yards and a touchdown for the Cowboys (7-3, 4-3 Big 12, No. 22 CFP), who won their third straight. Oklahoma State gained 481 total yards, including 243 rushing. Kolby Harvell-Peel led Oklahoma State's defense with two interceptions.

Carter Stanley passed for 226 yards and two touchdowns for Kansas (3-7, 1-6). It was the first meeting between Kansas coach Les Miles and Oklahoma State coach Mike Gundy. Gundy was Miles' offensive coordinator at Oklahoma State from 2001-2004 before Miles left to become head coach at LSU and Gundy took over as head coach for the Cowboys. Hubbard scored his first touchdown just over three minutes into the game. He ran for 100 yards and two touchdowns in the first half to help Oklahoma State take a 24-0 lead. In the third quarter, backup quarterback Dru Brown threw a perfect strike for a 43-yard touchdown to Stoner to push the lead to 31-0. - AP College Football

Oklahoma State’s Chuba Hubbard could push his way deeper into the Heisman Trophy conversation with a big game. He leads the nation with 1,604 yards rushing. He faces a Kansas defense that is giving up 262 yards per game on the ground during Big 12 play and ranks among the nation’s worst - 126th out of 130 teams - overall against the run. "Our front seven has got to make tackles," Miles said. "He's a talented back, one of the best backs in the league certainly. The defense, this will be a great test." - AP College Football

  11/12/19 - Alan BowmanrSr/2025, Oklahoma State, 6-3, 220 (DS#60 QB) + More +

Texas Tech quarterback Alan Bowman has been cleared to play after missing six games with a shoulder injury but the plan now is to redshirt the second-year player. Bowman, who got hurt in the third game Sept. 14 at Arizona, could still play in one more game this season for Texas Tech (4-5) and maintain his status as a sophomore player going into next year. Red Raiders coach Matt Wells said Monday he respects and agrees with the decision by Bowman and his parents to not play again this year. He was the Big 12's leading passer with 1,020 yards passing (340 per game) and led the nation with 33.7 completions per game when he got hurt. As a true freshman last season, Bowman became Texas Tech's starter in the second game. He threw 2,638 yards with 17 touchdowns in eight games, missing four games over two different stints because of a collapsed lung. - AP College Football

On his Oklahoma State website bio, Calvin Bundage was described during the preseason as an explosive talent...who figures to be a leader in 2019. Instead, he has been at the center of an ongoing mystery: Why isnt Bundage playing? A senior linebacker/edge rusher from Edmond Santa Fe, Bundage is believed to have been bothered since the preseason by a back issue. The nature of the injury has not been disclosed by OSU coach Mike Gundy. A veteran of 20 starts, Bundage has not played in any game this season or traveled with the Cowboys for any road games, including Saturdays OSU-Iowa State Big 12 contest at Jack Trice Stadium. Sources close to the program indicate Bundage will miss the entire 2019 season, but is expected to remain a program member and play in 2020. - Tulsa World
