  09/13/25 - Jeremiah SmithSo/2028, Ohio State, 6-3, 215 (DS#1 WR) + More +

Julian Sayin passed for 347 yards and three touchdowns, Jeremiah Smith found the end zone twice and top-ranked Ohio State pulled away in the second half for a 37-9 victory over Ohio on Saturday night. Ohio (1-2) pulled to 13-9 early in the third quarter when Parker Navarro connected with Chase Hendricks for a 67-yard touchdown. However, the Buckeyes took control by scoring on their next four drives. Jayden Fielding's third field goal put the Buckeyes (3-0) up 16-9 before Sayin found Smith for a 47-yard touchdown and Carnell Tate for a 49-yard score to make it a three-score game.

Smith, who had a career-high nine receptions for 153 yards, put it out of reach by going around left end on a 17-yard reverse to make it 37-9 midway through the fourth quarter. The sophomore also became the fastest player in school history to reach 1,500 yards receiving, reaching the mark in his 19th game. Sayin completed 25 of 32 passes. He had his second straight 300-yard game but also had two interceptions. Bo Jackson had 109 rushing yards on nine carries and Tate had five receptions for 101 yards and a TD. The Buckeyes had 572 yards of total offense, including four plays of at least 42 yards, and held the Bobcats to 181. Navarro completed six of 13 passes for 94 yards. The senior suffered a wrist injury late in the first quarter and didn't come back until after halftime. - Ohio State/AP College Football

  08/30/25 - Julian SayinrFr/2029, Ohio State, 6-1, 203 (DS#2 QB) + More +

Julian Sayin had a 40-yard touchdown pass to Carnell Tate early in the fourth quarter, Ohio State's defense got a couple key stops in the red zone and the third-ranked Buckeyes opened their season with a 14-7 victory over top-ranked Texas on Saturday. It was the fourth time the AP's No. 1 team in the preseason poll has met the previous season's national champion in the opener. The defending champ has won the last three. Arch Manning completed 17 of 30 passes for 170 yards, a touchdown and an interception for the Longhorns. Texas was 1 of 5 on fourth down, including being stopped twice in the red zone. The Longhorns were driving for a tying touchdown late in the game but Jack Endries was stopped by Caleb Downs 1 yard short of a first down to end hopes of a comeback.

Sayin was 13 of 20 passing for 126 yards. His best pass of the day came with 13:08 remaining in the game, when Tate beat Texas cornerback Jaylon Guilbeau for the long score. Tate juggled the ball before pulling it down in the end zone to put the Buckeyes up by two touchdowns. CJ Donaldson opened the scoring midway through the second quarter on a 1-yard run up the middle to cap a 13-play, 87-yard drive that took eight minutes off the clock. The Buckeyes benefitted from a pair of penalties, including a face mask call on Colin Simmons that wiped out an incomplete pass on third-and-4. Texas finally got points with 3:28 remaining in the fourth quarter when Manning connected with Parker Livingstone on a 32-yard touchdown. The Longhorns defense forced a three-and-out, giving Texas a chance to tie. - AP College Football

  08/31/24 - Jeremiah SmithSo/2028, Ohio State, 6-3, 215 (DS#1 WR) + More +

Freshman Jeremiah Smith caught two touchdown passes and No. 2 Ohio State overcame a sluggish start to bury Akron 52-6 in the opener for both teams Saturday. Under new offensive coordinator Chip Kelly, the Buckeyes needed nearly all of the first half to start running smoothly against the overmatched Zips. Smith dropped the first pass thrown to him on the opening drive. The Buckeyes punted, leading to an Akron field goal. Smith redeemed himself, however, turning around to make a slick catch in the end zone of a 16-yard pass from Kansas State transfer quarterback Will Howard for a touchdown.

Late in the first half, the much-hyped receiver from South Florida caught a 9-yard pass in the end zone with cornerback Devonte Golden-Nelson draped all over him. That put the Buckeyes up 17-3 at the half. A 45-yard contested catch in the third quarter set up a 2-yard scoring run by Quinshon Judkins, the first as a Buckeye for the Ole Miss transfer. Howard finished 17 for 28 for 228 yards and three TDs. The Zips got field goals of 48 and 49 yards by Garrison Smith. - AP College Football
