  NOV 7 MISSOURI VALLEY PLAYER OF THE WEEK NOMINEE: CB C.J. Siegel, North Dakota - In the 42-7 win at Indiana State, C.J. Siegel intercepted a Sycamore pass and returned it 29 yards. Eight plays later, Tyler Hoosman extended the UND lead to 21-7 with 2:03 left before intermission. Siegel finished the day with four tackles, the interception and a pass breakup. Siegel is now tied for fifth on UND's Division I list for career pass breakups with 22.   OCT 31 MISSOURI VALLEY PLAYER OF THE WEEK NOMINEE: RB Tyler Hoosman, North Dakota - In the 34-31 win over Abilene Christian, Tyler Hoosman was involved in five rushing plays on the final drive, gaining 30 yards in that drive alone to help UND milk the last 7:48 of clock. In the game, he finished as the top rusher, piling up 112 yards on 20 carries to go with two scores. It marked the fourth 100-yard rushing game of his career. With his two rushing touchdowns, Hoosman is now tied for No. 5 on UND's Division I list for single-season touchdowns, tying himself with Brady Oliveira (2016) with 10. - Missouri Valley Football

  OCT 9 MISSOURI VALLEY CO-NEWCOMER OF THE WEEK: DB Cole Davis, North Dakota, 5-10, 170, R-Fr. (Marengo, Ill./Marengo),...Davis's heads-up play midway through the fourth quarter played a huge role in North Dakota's 35-30 victory at Youngstown State. In the back-and-forth contest, Davis gave the Hawks momentum, blocking a punt and returning it three yards for a touchdown to put UND up 35-24 with 8:38 remaining in the contest. It was Davis's first touchdown down of his career. With the score, it was the first blocked punt returned for a touchdown for UND since April 24, 2021, when Hayden Reynolds blocked Missouri State and scored in the 44-10 win. - Missouri Valley Football

The 55-yard touchdown run in the third quarter put the Hawks up 26-20 and UND would not relinquish the lead after that point. The 147 yards on the ground for Hoosman was not only a career high, but also good for his third 100-yard game this season.   OCT 9 MISSOURI VALLEY PLAYER OF THE WEEK NOMINEE: DB Jayson Coley, North Dakota - Coley played a key role in the final moments of UND's 35-30 victory at YSU. Coley sacked Mitch Davidson for a nine-yard loss when the Penguins were facing third-and-seven from the UND 29 with just over a minute left in the game. The sack brought up fourth-and-16 from the UND 38. On the next play, Davidson connected on a 10-yard pass to Bryce Oliver and was immediately tackled by C.J. Siegel. The turnover on downs allowed the Fighting Hawks to escape with the win, while Coley's sack helped seal the deal. He also had four tackles and 1.5 tackles-for-loss. - Missouri Valley Football

  Tyler Hoosman's 14-yard touchdown run put North Dakota ahead and Cole Davis' punt-block score gave the Fighting Hawks a cushion they would need as they rallied in the fourth quarter to beat Youngstown State 35-30 on Saturday night. Hoosman spun off a defender, avoided another and ran through a final tackler to score with under 10 minutes left and a 28-24 lead for UND (4-2, 3-1 Missouri Valley Football Conference). Just over a minute later, Penguins punter Paddy Lynch couldn't handle the snap but tried to get his kick off only to have it blocked and returned 3 yards by Davis to go up by 11.

Youngstown State's Jaleel McLaughlin scored on a 4-yard run with 5:49 remaining to trail by five after a two-point pass attempt failed. The Penguins got the ball back at their own 44 after a short punt with just under four minutes left. Youngstown State reached the UND 29 but a blitz resulted in a sack and the Penguins could only get 10 yards on a fourth-and-16. Hoosman rushed for two touchdowns and Tommy Schuster threw to Isaiah Smith for another. Schuster threw for 292 yards, increasing his career total to 5,492, most in the Fighting Hawks' Division I history. He passed Keaton Studsrud (2014-17) at 5,452. Mitch Davidson passed for 280 yards and two touchdowns for Youngstown State and Jaleel McLaughlin added 138 yards on 14 carries. - North Dakota/AP College Football

  2022 PRESEASON ALLSTATE AFCA GOOD WORKS TEAM NOMINEE: Garett Maag, University of North Dakota,...Maag started nine games at wide receiver for UND in 2021 and finished fifth on the team in receptions with 21 catches for 266 yards. He averaged 12.67 yards per catch and 29.56 yards per game to sit fourth on the team. Maag produced two touchdown receptions and recorded a season-high five receptions for 81 yards at Utah State. Entering the 2021 season, he was named HERO Sports' "Top FCS Player to Wear No. 89".
