Chris Mosley rushed for three touchdowns and caught passes for two more scores to lead North Carolina Central to a 62-20 romp over North Carolina A&T on Saturday. Mosley finished with 11 carries for 168 yards and added four receptions for 90 yards. He scored on runs of 50 and 14 yards in the first quarter to help the Eagles (3-2) take a 17-0 lead. Arthur Rodgers scored on a 1-yard plunge and Mosley teamed up with Walker Harris for a 50-yard touchdown and a 31-14 lead at halftime.

Harris threw a 38-yard touchdown pass to Chauncey Spikes and a 30-yarder to Mosley in the third quarter before Rodgers added a 3-yard scoring run for a 52-14 advantage. Mosley's 75-yard touchdown run was the lone score in the fourth. Harris completed 22 of 29 for 380 yards. Rodgers carried 12 times for 149 of the Eagles' 366 rushing yards. Nasim Cosby had six receptions for 117 yards. Kevin White totaled 232 yards on 10-for-16 passing for the Aggies (1-3). Walker Harris threw for a career-high 387 passing and three touchdowns, Tomondrey Braxton had a pick-6, and NC Central defeated Division II Fayetteville State 49-19 on Saturday night. The Eagles (2-2) had five players score touchdowns, highlighted by Mehki Wall's 63-yard scoring reception early in the fourth quarter. Harris and Zion Dobson added one rushing touchdown apiece, and Quentin McCall and Luke Bracey each had one receiving score.

NC Central had 499 total yards of offense to Fayetteville State's 228. NC Central had 24 total first downs and went 9-for-14 on third down. After an interception in the third quarter, NC Central responded by forcing a three-and-out and scoring three straight touchdowns, including two in eight seconds, the second of which was Braxton's pick-6. Bryce Council had 94 rushing yards and one touchdown on 11 carries for the Broncos (0-3). Chris Mosley ran for a career-high 180 yards, the North Carolina Central defense did not allow a point in the second half, and the Eagles defeated Southern 31-14 on Saturday night in the season-opening MEAC/SWAC Challenge Kickoff. Mosley, a senior who had never had more than 10 carries in a game, had 17 carries and his 180 yards included a 49-yard touchdown run that helped North Carolina Central of the MEAC take a 17-14 halftime lead. In the third quarter, the Eagles cashed in on a shanked punt and drove 34 yards culminating in a short Walker Harris touchdown pass to Kyle Morgan for a 24-14 lead. Later in the quarter, Aleni Mageo’s 6-yard touchdown run made it 31-14.

The Jaguars had one last opportunity to score but Thomas Johnson forced and recovered a fumble by Jaguars quarterback Cam’Ron McCoy inside the red zone. Harris completed 22 of 27 passes for 189 yards with the touchdown. Trey Holly led the Jaguars of the SWAC with 119 yards rushing on 10 carries. He had an 80-yard touchdown run that gave Southern a 14-10 lead in the second quarter. The Eagles had 409 yards of offense, with 234 yards coming on their first three drives. The Jaguars ran only 19 plays in the first half and held the ball for 7:55 but Holly's long touchdown and a 69-yard touchdown run by McCoy made it a three-point game at halftime. - North Carolina Central/AP College Football

Quarterback Davius Richard ran for 97 yards and two touchdowns, including a 1-yard scoring plunge in overtime, and North Carolina Central beat Jackson State 41-34 in Saturday's Celebration Bowl to spoil coach Deion Sanders' bid for an undefeated season in his final game with the Tigers. The Eagles' defense made a goal-line stand on Jackson State's first overtime possession to preserve the win. Tight end Hayden Hagler's drop on third down from the 1 set up an incompletion by Jackson State quarterback Shedeur Sanders to end the game regarded as the championship of teams from historically Black college and universities. Sanders' 19-yard touchdown pass to Travis Hunter as time expired in regulation set up Alejandro Mata's tying extra point to send the game to overtime. It was the fourth scoring pass of the game for Sanders, who also ran for a score.

Jackson State (12-1) was denied its bid for the first undefeated season in school history. Coach Deion Sanders is taking over the football program at Colorado, but wanted to finish the season with his Tigers first. Shedeur Sanders will accompany his father to Boulder. The win by N.C. Central (10-2) gave the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference a 6-1 edge over teams from the Southwestern Athletic Conference in the Celebration Bowl. Latrell Collier's 7-yard scoring run with 4:31 remaining gave NCCU the lead. The Tigers answered with a 15-play drive that included Sanders' 10-yard, fourth-down pass to T.J. Martin. Richard passed for 177 yards with a touchdown and ran for 97 yards and two scores. Richard showed his versatility on a three-yard drive for game's first touchdown. Adrian Olivo's 36-yard field goal as time expired lifted North Carolina Central to a 22-20 victory over Tennessee Tech in a non-league regular season finale on Saturday. Tennessee Tech (4-7) took a 20-19 lead on Jeremiah Oatsvall's 1-yard run with 2:43 remaining in the fourth quarter. The Golden Eagles' two-point conversion try was no good. North Carolina Central (9-2) started at its own 28-yard line on what would be the game's final drive. The Eagles made four first downs - converting once on fourth down - and reached the Tennessee Tech 19-yard line. With time running out, Olivo made his third field goal of the game. Latrell Collier had 130 yards rushing for North Carolina Central, the MEAC co-champion. Davius Richard threw for a season-high 347 yards and four touchdowns and ran for another score and North Carolina Central beat Norfolk State 48-14 on Saturday. Otto Kuhns' 10-yard scoring run gave Norfolk State a 7-0 lead on its first drive of the game which lasted 10 plays and covered 73 yards. Later, in the second quarter, North Carolina Central (8-2, 4-1 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) proceeded to blow it open scoring touchdowns on all four of its drives. Latrell Collier ran it in from the 1 to knot the score, then, in a six-minute span, Richard threw a 24-yard scoring pass to J'mari Taylor, 23 yards to Collier and 1 yard to Joaquin Davis with the last coming five seconds before halftime.
