  WEEK 7 MEAC OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: North Carolina Central quarterback Walker Harris (QB, 6-1, 195, r-Sr., Wake Forest, N.C.) delivered another standout performance in the Eagles' 45-7 victory over Florida A&M. The redshirt senior completed 21 of 27 passes (77.8%) for 278 yards and two touchdowns, connecting with eight different receivers. He also added 30 rushing yards and a touchdown on eight carries. Saturday marked Harris's fourth game this season with over 250 passing yards and at least two touchdown passes, leading a balanced NCCU offense to 486 total yards. - MEAC Football

  Walker Harris accounted for three touchdowns, Chris Mosley ran for 131 yards and a score, and North Carolina Central rolled to a 45-7 victory over Florida A&M on Saturday. Harris completed 21 of 27 passes for 278 yards that included a pair of touchdowns. His 4-yard touchdown run stretched the N.C. Central lead to 35-7 late in the third quarter. Mosley broke loose on a 50-yard touchdown run early in the fourth.

Chance Peterson made eight catches for 104 yards for North Carolina Central (5-2). Eric Adams added a 33-yard pick-6. Jett Peddy threw for 154 yards with three interceptions for Florida A&M (1-4).   Walker Harris threw two touchdown passes and ran for another TD, Arthur Rodgers Jr. had two rushing touchdowns, and North Carolina Central beat East Texas A&M 50-42 on Saturday night. Harris was 21-of-32 passing for 288 yards and scored on a 1-yard run about five minutes into the third quarter. Harris threw a 32-yard touchdown pass to Chauncey Spikes that made it 14-7 with 3:55 left in the first quarter and N.C. Central (4-2) led the rest of the way.

East Texas A&M (0-4) took a 7-0 lead when Tanner Harrison caught a pass from Harris and then raced 43 yards to the end zone for a 73-yard touchdown on the second play from scrimmage. Chris Mosley had 26 carries for 72 yards and a TD and added five receptions for 58 yards for N.C. Central. Spikes finished with 113 yards receiving on six catches. Ron Peace was 19-of-39 passing for 356 yards and two touchdowns with an interception for the Lions. Eric Rodriguez replaced Peace with about four minutes to play and went 7 of 12 for 100 yards and two TDs.   WEEK 4 HBCU FCS NATIONAL PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Chris Mosley, North Carolina Central, RB, R-Sr., 5-11, 180,...Mosley turned 15 touches into 258 yards from scrimmage and five touchdowns as North Carolina Central powered past rival North Carolina A&T 62-20 in the 97th edition of the Aggie-Eagle Classic. He rushed for a 53-yard TD in the game's first minute, then added scores on 14- and 75-yard runs as well as 50- and 30-yard receptions. He finished with 168 yards on 11 carries and 90 yards on four catches.   Chris Mosley rushed for three touchdowns and caught passes for two more scores to lead North Carolina Central to a 62-20 romp over North Carolina A&T on Saturday. Mosley finished with 11 carries for 168 yards and added four receptions for 90 yards. He scored on runs of 50 and 14 yards in the first quarter to help the Eagles (3-2) take a 17-0 lead. Arthur Rodgers scored on a 1-yard plunge and Mosley teamed up with Walker Harris for a 50-yard touchdown and a 31-14 lead at halftime.

Harris threw a 38-yard touchdown pass to Chauncey Spikes and a 30-yarder to Mosley in the third quarter before Rodgers added a 3-yard scoring run for a 52-14 advantage. Mosley's 75-yard touchdown run was the lone score in the fourth. Harris completed 22 of 29 for 380 yards. Rodgers carried 12 times for 149 of the Eagles' 366 rushing yards. Nasim Cosby had six receptions for 117 yards. Kevin White totaled 232 yards on 10-for-16 passing for the Aggies (1-3).   Walker Harris threw for a career-high 387 passing and three touchdowns, Tomondrey Braxton had a pick-6, and NC Central defeated Division II Fayetteville State 49-19 on Saturday night. The Eagles (2-2) had five players score touchdowns, highlighted by Mehki Wall's 63-yard scoring reception early in the fourth quarter. Harris and Zion Dobson added one rushing touchdown apiece, and Quentin McCall and Luke Bracey each had one receiving score.

NC Central had 499 total yards of offense to Fayetteville State's 228. NC Central had 24 total first downs and went 9-for-14 on third down. After an interception in the third quarter, NC Central responded by forcing a three-and-out and scoring three straight touchdowns, including two in eight seconds, the second of which was Braxton's pick-6. Bryce Council had 94 rushing yards and one touchdown on 11 carries for the Broncos (0-3). The Eagles are 25-9 all-time against the Broncos, with their last meeting being a 54-31 NC Central win in 2012. - AP College Football

  Keegan Patterson threw two touchdowns and Elijah Owens threw for another and Indiana State led the entire way beating Eastern Illinois 38-14 on Saturday. Owens started the Sycamores (2-0) off throwing a 19-yard score to Plez Lawrence for a 7-0 lead early in the first quarter. In the second, Patterson threw a 4-yard score to Larry Stephens III to make it 14-0. After halftime, the Panthers (1-1) reduced the deficit to 17-7 when Charles Kellom ran it in from 13 yards out. Lawrence pushed the Sycamores lead back to 17 points with a 4-yard run.

Kellom ran it in again, this time from the 2, to bring EIU within 24-14 with 10:20 left in the fourth. The Sycamores sealed it when Patterson threw a 40-yard score to Rashad Rochelle and Nick Osho ran it in from 31 yards. Eastern Illinois still leads the all-time series against the Sycamores 46-41-4 going back to the first contest between the two programs in 1901. The Sycamores have reduced their deficit having won four of the last six contests since 2018 season despite EIU's two-game win streak entering Saturday. - AP College Football

  WEEK 1 MISSOURI VALLEY FOOTBALL OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: RB Plez Lawrence, Indiana State, R-Jr., Kokomo, Ind.,...Lawrence scored three second-half touchdowns in helping Indiana State take the season-opening win over McKendree on Thursday night. Lawrence scored two touchdowns (17-yard rushing, 75-yard receiving) in a decisive third quarter 21-0 swing against the Bearcats to give Indiana State a 34-12 lead. He added his final touchdown in the closing minute of the game with a four-yard rushing score to secure the 41-24 win. Lawrence finished with 225 total offensive yards (133 rushing, 92 receiving) marking a new career-high for the redshirt junior. His three touchdowns were the first by an Indiana State player since Lawrence recorded three scores back in 2023 against Murray State. - Missouri Valley Football

  Plez Lawrence had three total touchdowns, including a 75-yard touchdown catch in the third quarter, for Indiana State University in a 41-24 win over DII McKendree University in the season opener for both teams on Thursday night. Lawrence rushed for a 17-yard touchdown and a 4-yard score in the second half for the Sycamores. Lawrence had 92 yards receiving and 133 on the ground. It was the fourth game of his career with over 100 yards rushing and his 75-yard score was the longest touchdown catch of his Sycamore career. Running back Nick Osho scored on a 4-yard touchdown grab to extend the Cyclones' lead to 27-12. Elijah Owens, who was a Jerry Rice Award finalist for the best freshman in the FCS last season, threw his first touchdown pass of the season to Bryan Domino to give Indiana State a 10-3 lead. Owens went 20 of 28 for 254 yards.

McKendree had a shaky start offensively, having an interception within the first two minutes of the game and a fumble in the first quarter. With less than two minutes to play in the first half, Eddie Clark ran the ball in 2 yards to find the endzone for the Bearcats. An errant snap to Indiana State punter Harry Traum went over his head and into the endzone, resulting in a safety, to make it 13-12 heading into halftime. Ty Michael threw two touchdown passes in the fourth quarter to bring the deficit to 34-24 for McKendree. He came in relief of his younger brother, starter Colt Michael, in the second half, who threw two interceptions. - AP College Football

  Chris Mosley ran for a career-high 180 yards, the North Carolina Central defense did not allow a point in the second half, and the Eagles defeated Southern 31-14 on Saturday night in the season-opening MEAC/SWAC Challenge Kickoff. Mosley, a senior who had never had more than 10 carries in a game, had 17 carries and his 180 yards included a 49-yard touchdown run that helped North Carolina Central of the MEAC take a 17-14 halftime lead. In the third quarter, the Eagles cashed in on a shanked punt and drove 34 yards culminating in a short Walker Harris touchdown pass to Kyle Morgan for a 24-14 lead. Later in the quarter, Aleni Mageo’s 6-yard touchdown run made it 31-14.

The Jaguars had one last opportunity to score but Thomas Johnson forced and recovered a fumble by Jaguars quarterback Cam’Ron McCoy inside the red zone. Harris completed 22 of 27 passes for 189 yards with the touchdown. Trey Holly led the Jaguars of the SWAC with 119 yards rushing on 10 carries. He had an 80-yard touchdown run that gave Southern a 14-10 lead in the second quarter. The Eagles had 409 yards of offense, with 234 yards coming on their first three drives. The Jaguars ran only 19 plays in the first half and held the ball for 7:55 but Holly's long touchdown and a 69-yard touchdown run by McCoy made it a three-point game at halftime. - North Carolina Central/AP College Football

  Quarterback Davius Richard ran for 97 yards and two touchdowns, including a 1-yard scoring plunge in overtime, and North Carolina Central beat Jackson State 41-34 in Saturday's Celebration Bowl to spoil coach Deion Sanders' bid for an undefeated season in his final game with the Tigers. The Eagles' defense made a goal-line stand on Jackson State's first overtime possession to preserve the win. Tight end Hayden Hagler's drop on third down from the 1 set up an incompletion by Jackson State quarterback Shedeur Sanders to end the game regarded as the championship of teams from historically Black college and universities. Sanders' 19-yard touchdown pass to Travis Hunter as time expired in regulation set up Alejandro Mata's tying extra point to send the game to overtime. It was the fourth scoring pass of the game for Sanders, who also ran for a score.

Jackson State (12-1) was denied its bid for the first undefeated season in school history. Coach Deion Sanders is taking over the football program at Colorado, but wanted to finish the season with his Tigers first. Shedeur Sanders will accompany his father to Boulder. The win by N.C. Central (10-2) gave the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference a 6-1 edge over teams from the Southwestern Athletic Conference in the Celebration Bowl. Latrell Collier's 7-yard scoring run with 4:31 remaining gave NCCU the lead. The Tigers answered with a 15-play drive that included Sanders' 10-yard, fourth-down pass to T.J. Martin. Richard passed for 177 yards with a touchdown and ran for 97 yards and two scores. Richard showed his versatility on a three-yard drive for game's first touchdown. Richard had a 21-yard run, a 30-yard catch on a trick play and a 5-yard scoring run that gave the Eagles a 10-0 lead. - NC Central/AP College Football
