Pettiford is considered one of the best linemen in FCS football. He earned FCS first-team preseason lineup honors from College Football America Yearbook's. He has played 521 snaps this season and led the team with 27 domination blocks while having only one flag thrown against him. He graded out at 88 percent for the season. "Marcus has overcome a lot in his career to get to this point," said N.C. A&T coach Sam Washington. "He was expected to be a leader coming into this season and he did just that. Guys follow him because he always plays hard. This young man's ceiling is very high." Pettiford was out of school during the 2016 season because of academics. Pettiford worked hard to get himself back in school through the university's learning specialist to make the Dean's List. - North Carolina A&T Football
