  09/07 WEEK 1 PFL OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: David Parsons, Morehead State (Sophomore (RS), Quarterback, Parkersburg, West Virginia),...Parsons needed just 23 minutes of game time to power Morehead State to a 47-17 lead in the Eagles' 75-24 win against Kentucky Christian. In just 16 plays over his quarter-and-a-half of playing time, he compiled 340 total offensive yards and five total touchdowns. Parsons opened the game with a 60-yard touchdown strike to Cross Watson, capping the Eagles' opening drive. After an MSU interception on the first play of the ensuing KCU drive, Parsons capped the second drive with a 27-yard TD pass to Cannon Dinger. Kentucky Christian ran the ensuing kickoff back for a touchdown, but Parsons responded immediately with another drive capped by a 25-yard touchdown pass to Watson. He added an eight-yard touchdown pass to Dinger in the second quarter before wrapping up his outing with a 72-yard touchdown pass to Anthony Ice with 7:03 remaining in the second quarter, giving the Eagles a 47-17 advantage. - Pioneer League Football

He caught nine passes for 154 yards and two touchdowns on the day, pushing past 1,000 receiving yards this season. In the first half, Upp had a 57-yard receiving touchdown that put Morehead State up 21-17 with 5:38 remaining in the half as Morehead State built a 24-17 halftime lead.   Ryan Upp had 154 receiving yards and two touchdowns, including the game-deciding score in the final minute to lead Morehead State to a 31-30 comeback win over Butler on Saturday. Upp scored at the end of both halves, catching a 57-yarder from Carter Cravens with 5:38 remaining in the first. Down 30-24 in the final minute, he caught a 7-yarder from Cravens to take the lead with the help of Jordan Price's decisive extra point, on a 14-play, 75-yard drive.

Cravens was 23-of-31 passing for 298 yards for the Eagles (6-5, 4-3 Pioneer League), with nine completions going Upp's way. Ethan Loss returned a kickoff 100 yards for a touchdown, rushed for a touchdown, and led Butler (5-5, 3-3) in receiving, with 72 yards on seven catches. Butler had three turnovers over a span of four possessions. Andrew Reagan was 13-of-20 passing for 103 yards with two interceptions. Kicker Ryan Short sent Butler into the half up 24-17 with a 45-yard field goal as time expired. He had makes of 44 and 43 yards in the second half. - AP College Football

  Carter Cravens linked with Bronson England on a 4-yard touchdown pass with 1:06 remaining to complete Morehead State's comeback win over Davidson, 28-24 on Saturday. The Eagles (5-5, 3-3 Pioneer Football League) rallied from an 11-point fourth-quarter deficit to win their third straight game and get back to .500 for the first time since Week 4. Garnett Davis III scored on his only carry of the game, a 1-yard rush with 7:11 left to get Morehead State within one score. After an interception by Davidson on the next drive, the Eagles had a 30-yard field goal try blocked. Morehead State's defense forced a three-and-out to send the offense back onto the field and complete the game-winning drive. Isaac Stopke ran for 115 yards and a touchdown on 15 carries, scoring on Morehead State's first drive of the game. Ryan Upp added 169 yards receiving on eight receptions. The Wildcats (1-8, 0-5) were paced by Mason Sheron and Will Jones, who ran for 64 and 61 yards, respectively, and each scored rushing touchdowns. - AP College Football

  Craig Cunningham caught a 22-yard touchdown pass in the first quarter and added a 4-yard scoring run to cap the scoring in the third to help Morehead State beat Valparaiso 17-13 on Saturday. Cunningham had seven rushes for 18 yards and he caught two passes for 27 yards. Fellow running back Isaac Stopke carried it 17 times for 118 yards for Morehead State (4-5, 2-3 Pioneer), which has won two straight games. Carter Cravens was 16 of 25 for 158 yards with a touchdown and an interception.

Thomas Schwartz made a 41-yard field goal to pull Morehead State within 13-10 - a week after making a field goal from the same distance in the closing seconds of a 23-21 victory over Marist. Dawaiian McNeely and Rowan Keefe each had a short touchdown run in the first half - both capping drives of 75-plus yards - for Valparaiso (1-7, 0-4). Keefe was 9 of 15 for 154 yards with an interception. The Eagles forced Valpo into four turnovers on downs, and Jackson Benjamin came up with Morehead State's second interception of the season. - AP College Football

  WEEK 8 PIONEER FOOTBALL LEAGUE DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Dillon Schobourgh, Morehead State (Senior, Linebacker, Toronto, Canada),...Schobourgh led the Eagles with 11 tackles, including three sacks, as the Eagles held off Marist for a 23-21 PFL victory. His three sacks tied the PFL season best and is fourth most in the FCS this season. Late in the first half, he scored his second sack on a Marist 4th-and-3 play to force a turnover on downs, with the resulting Morehead State possession resulting in a field goal. Along with the three sacks, he also had a tackle for no gain, and four tackles for gains of three yards or less. Schwartz has mainly handled kickoff duties only for the Eagles until Week 8, but started his day with a 40-yard field goal to give Morehead State a 13-0 halftime lead.   Thomas Schwartz V drilled a 41-yard field goal with three seconds left for Morehead State in a 23-21 win over Marist on Saturday. Marist (3-4, 1-3 in PFL) took its first lead of the game with 31 seconds left in the game off a 1-yard rush from Carter James, 21-20, after being down 20-0 in the third quarter. Morehead State (3-5, 1-3 in PFL) returned the kickoff for 45 yards, and the Eagles were set up on Marist's 33-yard line. Quarterback Carter Cravens got Morehead State safely into field goal territory on a 9-yard pass, and Schwartz nailed the kick.

Cravens went 11-for-16 with 139 yards. Ryan Upp recorded 109 receiving yards and Isaac Stopke rushed for 88 yards and one touchdown. Cannon Dinger also had a receiving touchdown. James started the comeback effort with under three minutes left in the third quarter for the Red Foxes scoring on a short pass from quarterback Sonny Mannino. Mannino rushed for the next score and James gave Marist the brief lead in the final minute. Mannino had 207 yards on 21-for-33 passing. - AP College Football

  Carter Cravens scored a career-high five touchdowns - four in the air and one on the ground - as Morehead State beat NAIA member Kentucky Christian 45-28 on Saturday. Cravens was 18-for-23 for 311 yards with scoring throws to Ryan Upp, Montez Green and Cannon Dinger as Morehead State averaged over 17 yards per completion. Upp caught seven passes for 139 yards and two scores.

The Eagles (2-2) set the tone with a 10-0 first quarter, then stacked three touchdowns in the second to take a 31-14 lead into halftime. After Kentucky Christian (1-2) pulled within 31-21 in the third, Morehead State answered with two quick strikes to make it 45-21, never letting the margin shrink to one score. Morehead State overpowered the game on the ground with 289 rushing yards. Craig Cunningham ran 20 times for 138 yards, Isaac Stopke added 102 yards and a touchdown on 13 carries, and Cravens kept one for a 15-yard score. Knights' quarterback Jackson Wasik threw for 243 yards and three touchdowns, all to Jason Cobb, who finished with four receptions for 38 yards.   Carter Cravens threw for a touchdown and ran for two more to lead Morehead State to a 38-31 win over Allen University on Saturday night in a season opener for both teams. Cravens was 16 for 21 for 219 yards and rushed for 71 yards on eight attempts. Morehead State running back Craig Cunningham rushed for 94 yards and a touchdown on 12 attempts and Ryan Upp led the team with eight catches for 90 yards. Sidney Webb returned a kickoff for an 83-yard touchdown early in the fourth quarter to put Morehead State up by two scores.

Allen quarterback Jamir Dismukes was 25 for 37 for 301 yards and two touchdowns. He rushed a game-high 18 times for 32 yards. He connected with Nanders Lawrence for a game-high 96 yards and a touchdown on eight catches. Fabian Duncan excelled around the goal line for Allen, scoring a pair of 1-yard touchdown runs in either half. The two sides went back-and-forth at the end of the first half. Cravens scrambled for a touchdown inside three minutes, before Duncan responded with a touchdown run with 34 seconds remaining.
