  02/25/20 - Shea PattersonSr/2020, Michigan, 6-1, 212 (DS#18 QB) + More +

Shea Patterson, playing one more season at Michigan? It was considered and, had the timeline for a decision been quicker, might have happened. The recently departed quarterback told reporters Tuesday at the NFL Scouting Combine that he mulled the idea of applying for a fifth year with the NCAA. It remains unclear what Patterson's rationale would have been, but the former transfer said the option was on the table. "I couldn't really find out until early February - maybe late February? - if I would even get the fifth year," Patterson said. "That's a big risk. I would have had to pass up the Senior Bowl. I would have had to pass up training. "If I didn't get that, I would have been stuck in no-man's land." - Michian Live

One of Michigan football's top receivers is moving on. Donovan Peoples-Jones announced Saturday afternoon that he will forgo his senior season to declare for the 2020 NFL draft. The junior receiver had 34 catches for 438 yards and six touchdowns this season. Peoples-Jones arrived at Michigan in 2017 as one of the highest-ranked prospects the Wolverines have ever signed. The former five-star prospect was ranked No. 12 overall in the class of 2017, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings, and was considered the nation's top receiver.

Although hampered by an injury early in this season, Peoples-Jones returned against Wisconsin and played the rest of the way. He finished with the third-most receptions and receiving yards, behind Ronnie Bell and Nico Collins. Peoples-Jones is the second offensive starter to declare for the draft in as many days, joining center Cesar Ruiz. The Wolverines are still awaiting NFL decisions from Collins and cornerback Ambry Thomas. - Detroit Free Press
