The Montreal, Quebec native and UConn transfer put the Warriors on the board in the first quarter with a five-yard toss to classmate Jacari Carter. Late in the third quarter, he connected with Carter once again with a season-long 76-yard throw before putting Merrimack up by 14 early in the fourth with a 19-yard touchdown pass to Hayden Fisher.   OCT 10 NEC OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Victor Dawson, Merrimack, Running Back, R-Fr., 6-0, 225, Akron, OH/Archbishop Hoban, Week 6 Stats: 124 rush yards, 22 rushes, 5.6 ypc, 2 TD rushes,...Dawson, a redshirt-freshman, scored two timely touchdowns in a Merrimack come-from-behind win at Duquesne to earn NEC Offensive Player of the Week honors for the first time in his career. The running back rushed 22 times for season-high 124 yards, including a season-best carry of 28 yards. A native of Akron, OH, Dawson's first touchdown, a nine-yard run, helped tie up the game before halftime at 14-14. In the third quarter, he tacked on an insurance score for the Warriors on the first play of Merrimack's seventh drive after running it in from 18 yards.   Victor Dawson ran for 124 yards and two touchdowns and Merrimack held off Duquesne 28-21 on Saturday. Dawson scored on 9-and 18-yard runs as the Warriors (4-2, 2-0 Northeast Conference) scored 21 straight points to take a 28-14 lead late in the third quarter. The Dukes (1-5, 0-2) quickly answered with a 48-yard deep strike from Darius Perrantes down the left sideline to Abdul Janneh in the final minute of the quarter.

Merrimack fumbled the ball inside the Duquesne 5-yard line and the Dukes pinned the Warriors at their one. However, Merrimack put together a 12-play drive, chewing up 6:33, before punting the ball to the Dukes' 15. Duquesne reached its own 41-yard line with a pair of first downs before four straight incompletions. Gavin McCusker threw for a touchdown to Hayden Fisher and Donvan Wadley ran for his first career score for Merrimack. Tyvon Edmonds Jr. ran for 99 yards as the Warriors piled up 256 of their 419 total yards on the ground. Joe Mischler and Perrantes each had a touchdown pass for the Dukes, who were 4 of 12 on third down, while Merrimack was successful on 11 of 15. - AP College Football

  Jack Zergiotis threw a touchdown pass and ran for a score in the first quarter and Merrimack breezed to a 45-17 victory over Division II-member Assumption on Friday night. Zergiotis opened the scoring for Merrimack (1-1) with a 1-yard TD run and capped a 21-point first quarter with a 22-yard scoring strike to Hayden FIsher. Garry Rosemond Jr. picked off a Jacob Cady pass and returned it 40 yards for a touchdown in between Zergiotis' scores. Rosemond returned a kickoff 94 yards for a TD in the fourth quarter Zergiotis completed 12 of 26 passes for 159 yards. He added a 2-yard scoring toss to Jelani Mason in the final period. Cady ran for a 14-yard score and threw a 29-yard scoring strike to Connor Milks in the final quarter for the Greyhounds, who trailed 24-0 after three periods. - AP College Football

  2022 PRESEASON ALL-NORTHEAST CONFERENCE FOOTBALL TEAM: DB Darion McKenzie, Merrimack, Gr.,...Defensive back Darion McKenzie also earned an All-Northeast Conference Preseason honor for his play on defense. McKenzie earned NEC All-Conference second team honors a season ago. He finished first on the team in pass break ups with nine on the season. The Berlin.
