  2019 PRESEASON ALL-CONFERENCE USA (COACHES): OL Levi Brown, Sr., Marshall,...Marshall Football had four student-athletes named preseason All-Conference USA Monday in an announcement made by the league office. Center Levi Brown, defensive lineman Channing Hames, defensive back Chris Jackson and long snapper Matt Beardall were all recognized by the league's 14 head coaches.

Brown was a first-team pick at the end of last season and Jackson made the second team. Beardall was also named a first-team 2018 selection and Hames was also selected as a 2019 preseason first-team pick by Athlon. The Thundering Herd will kick off its 2019 season on August 31 against VMI in Joan C. Edwards Stadium. - Marshall Football

  Marshall and North Texas each won nine games and played in a bowl game last season and the league’s media are forecasting that the two schools will meet in the C-USA Championship Game this December, as the Thundering Herd were picked to win the East Division title, while North Texas was selected to be crowned West Division champions, in a preseason vote conducted by a panel of media members that cover C-USA schools. Marshall welcomes back nine starters on offense and six on defense from a squad that finished 6-2 in the conference last season. - Conference USA Football
