NOV 7 CONFERENCE USA DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Louisiana Tech DB Myles Brooks recorded two interceptions, two tackles and a pass breakup in the Bulldogs' 40-24 win over Middle Tennessee on Saturday. He became the first Bulldog to record a multi-interception game since BeeJay Williamson did so last season against Southeastern (9/11/2021). Brooks' first interception came at the 14:27 mark of the third quarter, then two drives later, he picked off a Middle Tennessee pass at the La Tech five-yard line and returned it 49 yards to the Middle Tennessee 46. The Pflugerville, Texas, product is just the fifth Conference USA player to record multiple interceptions in a game this season. Brooks is tied for the team lead in interceptions with three, which is tied for second among all C-USA players. - Conference USA Football

Craig Williams ran for a career-high 192 yards and two touchdowns, and Baylor defeated Oklahoma 38-35 on Saturday to keep its Big 12 title hopes alive. Williams, a fifth-year junior, had rushed for 456 yards his entire injury-plagued career before exploding against the Sooners. His top performance this season had been 68 yards rushing against BYU, and he did not play in Baylor's previous two games. In all, the Bears (6-3, 4-2 Big 12) ran for 281 yards and five touchdowns to claim their third straight win.

Oklahoma's Dillon Gabriel passed for 261 yards and two touchdowns and ran nine times for 70 yards and another score. But he threw three interceptions - all in the first half - after just throwing one all season before Saturday's game. Eric Gray rushed for 106 yards and two touchdowns and caught eight passes for 58 yards for the Sooners (5-4, 2-4), who had won two straight. Despite Gabriel's mistakes, Baylor led just 24-21 at the break because the Sooners gained 334 yards in the first half. Qualan Jones' 10-yard touchdown run with 9:15 remaining in the fourth quarter gave Baylor a 38-28 lead. Gray's 1-yard score with 4:05 remaining cut the Bears' lead to 38-35, but Baylor ran out the clock on the next possession. - Baylor/AP College Football

Injuries in fall camp can sink a season before it ever begins. Nebraska's avoidance of any serious injuries ended with Scott Frost revealing Saturday that freshman wide receiver Decoldest Crawford will be out "for an extended period of time" due to a knee injury suffered in a team scrimmage. Frost said Crawford was having a strong fall camp. Other receivers name-dropped by Frost include Alante Brown, Omar Manning, Oliver Martin, Ty Hahn, Brody Belt and Wyatt Liewer. "I think we're deeper there than we've ever been with guys that are capable of going on the field," Frost said. "I think we're going to be able to keep our best on the field when we need to and (when we) rotate, feel like there's not much of a drop-off." - Lincoln Journal Star

The coolest NIL deal among Nebraska football players may now belong to a 19-year-old freshman whose name says it all. Decoldest Crawford and SOS Heating & Cooling have come together to promote the Omaha-based HVAC company in one of the more creative partnerships in 13 months of college student-athletes profiting from their name, image and likeness. The first-year receiver - whose full name is Decoldest Juan Crawford - will appear in advertisements across radio, print social media and maybe television beginning in late August. "We want to be the coldest," said Jake Wasikowski, an SOS public relations specialist. "We are the coldest AC company in Omaha and just having Decoldest out there saying that is music to my ears."

Wasikowski perked up immediately in December when the consensus three-star 2022 prospect from Shreveport, Louisiana, committed to Nebraska. He and longtime friend and SOS owner Jon Stuehm agreed then it was too perfect not to pursue an NIL deal. So they did. Wasikowski reached out on social media and eventually went through Crawford's agency, Athletes Branding and Marketing (ABM). They began shooting some spots this month, posting a few photos on social media. "I knew it was going to explode," Wasikowski said. "I just didn't know it was going to explode right away." - Omaha World-Herald
