Furman took a 24-10 lead early in the fourth quarter on Huff's long throw over the middle to Ryan Miller, who broke a tackle at the 5 and scored from 30-yards out. The Chattanooga quarterback capped the scoring early in the fourth quarter with a 5-yard run.   Zion Turner threw for a touchdown, the UConn defense forced five turnovers and the Huskies beat Boston College 13-3 on Saturday for their first win in the series dating to 1908. BC starter Phil Jurkovec and Emmett Morehead combined to throw three interceptions, helping the Huskies get their first win against the Eagles in 15 tries (1-12-2). Jurkovec started 12 of 19 for 155 yards with two interceptions and was injured trying to avoid a tackle midway through third quarter. He did not return following a brief visit to the sideline medical tent. Morehead went 7 for 16 for 75 yards in his place.

The Huskies, back from their bye week, wasted little time getting on the board as Turner connected with Justin Joly for a 62-yard touchdown on the game's third play. It was UConn's longest play from scrimmage this season, and it was also the second score in as many games for Joly, a freshman tight end. UConn's defense stepped up moments later, stuffing Jurkovec on a quarterback keeper from the Huskies 34. The Huskies promptly took advantage of the short field by extending their lead to 10-0 on a 31-yard field goal by Noe Ruelas. The Huskies got interceptions by Chris Shearin, Durante Jones and Jackson Mitchell. Turner finished 10 of 18 for 173 yards and one touchdown. Ruelas' second field goal, from 43 yards, came off a fumble recovery and gave UConn a 13-3 lead with 6:26 remaining. - UConn/AP College Football

Zion Webb fired 11 yards to a diving Sterling Galban in the back corner of the end zone in overtime and Jacksonville State then recovered a Jonathan Murphy fumble on Kennesaw State's first play to wrap up the Gamecocks' first win over the Owls 35-28 in the Atlantic Sun Conference opener Saturday. The Gamecocks spent 17 seasons in the Ohio Valley Conference before joining the ASUN. Jacksonville State outscored the Owls 18-0 in the third quarter and took a 28-21 lead, but Murphy tied the game with a 2-yard run with 3:14 left in regulation. On first down at his own 9, Murphy broke free for a 57-yard run to give Kennesaw State a first down at the Gamecocks' 34, but Nathan Robertson missed a 45-yard field-goal attempt with 19 seconds left.

Kennesaw State denied Jacksonville State an offensive touchdown and took a 21-10 lead into halftime. Amon Scarbrough scored the Gamecocks' lone first-half touchdown on a blocked punt recovered in the end zone. Webb gave the Gamecocks (5-1, 1-0) a 28-21 lead on a 42-yard touchdown pass to Keishoen Jarrett and a toss to Ahmad Edwards for a 2-point conversion. Murphy completed just 4 of 13 attempts for 44 yards and carried 39 times for 134 yards and three touchdowns to lead Kennesaw State (1-3, 0-1). Webb completed 11 of 22 passes for 184 yards and two touchdowns with an interception to lead Jacksonville State. - Jacksonville State/AP College Football

Zion Webb ran for three touchdowns and passed for two more to lead Jacksonville State to a 35-17 victory over Davidson on Saturday. Webb finished 9-of-20 passing for 158 yards and an interception. He carried seven times for 55 yards rushing. Matt LaRoche led the Gamecocks with 63 yards rushing on 13 carries. Jacksonville State (2-0) scored three touchdowns in the first 6:06 of the second quarter, with Webb accounting for all three scores. He ran 3 yards for a 14-7 Gamecocks lead, then after a punt he ran or passed for all but five yards in a 10-play, 86-yard drive that ended with his 7-yard run. On the next play from scrimmage, the Gamecocks' Stevonte Tullis recovered a fumble and Webb followed it up with a 21-yard touchdown pass to Pat Jackson for a 28-7 lead. Tullis had two fumble recoveries in the game.

Early in the fourth quarter, Webb's 20-yard touchdown run put Jacksonville State ahead 35-17. Despite the 18-point deficit, Davidson (0-1) stuck with its running game, attempting only eight passes. The Wildcats drove inside the 30 midway through the fourth quarter but a false start and two incomplete passes stalled the drive. Davidson had 62 rushes for 213 yards, led by 76 yards from Mark McCurdy. Jacksonville State defeated Davidson 49-14 in last year's FCS playoffs. This year, the Gamecocks are transitioning to FBS. - Jacksonville State/AP College Football

Zion Turner passed for two touchdowns in his first start, Nathan Carter rushed for 123 yards and a score and UConn cruised past FCS member Central Connecticut 28-3 on Saturday for coach Jim Mora's first victory with the Huskies. In last week's 31-20 loss to Utah State, the freshman Turner came in after just 10 offensive plays after Ta'Quan Roberson left with a knee injury. Turner's first pass resulted in an interception. Things were difference against CCSU. Carter, who rushed for a career-high 190 yards last week, led the way on the ground as UConn (1-1) rushed for 274 yards and held CCSU to 242 total yards.

Brian Brewton had 10 of UConn's 54 carries and rushed for 62 yards, and Victor Rosa added his first career touchdown on the ground. Romelo Williams, who threw for 1,452 yards and 10 touchdowns last season, was 16-of-30 passing for 164 yards with an interception for CCSU (0-1), which is coming off a 4-7 season in 2021. Malik Thomas rushed for 63 yards on five carries and Kyren Petteway caught six passes for 61 yards. Mora, the former NFL and UCLA coach is trying to rebuild a program that didn't play football in 2020 because of the pandemic, went 1-11 a year ago and have won just four games since the end of the 2017 season. - Connecticut/AP College Football
