  2025 SWAC DEFENSIVE PLAYER & NEWCOMER OF THE YEAR (COACHES): Quincy Ivory, Jackson State,...Ivory, a Buck Buchanan Award finalist and HBCU Player of the Year finalist, was named First Team All-SWAC on Monday afternoon after he finished the regular season with a team-high 64 tackles including 31 solo, while also recording 13.5 tackles for loss and 6.0 sacks. He also recorded an interception [against Alabama State], recorded five quarterback hurries, forced one fumble, and recovered two others. Ivory recorded eight or more tackles four times including eight against Hampton [8.30], 10 against Southern Miss [9.6], 10 against Alabama A&M [10.4], and a career-high 12 against Alabama State [10.11].

He recorded at least 0.5 sack in six games this season including a career-high two against Hampton [8.30], and recorded at least 0.5 tackle for loss in 10 games this season including a season-high 3.5 against Hampton [8.30]. The senior is ranked nationally in tackles for loss [20th], sacks [52nd], and fumbles recovered [93rd]; while he is ranked second in the conference in tackles for loss and third in sacks.   Jared Lockhart threw a touchdown pass and ran for a score to help Jackson State hold off Alcorn State 27-21 in a regular-season finale on Saturday. Ahmad Miller had a 57-yard run on the first play from scrimmage for Jackson State - ranked No. 15 in the FCS coaches poll. Lockhart capped the eight-play drive when he scored from a yard out on a keeper to put the Tigers up 7-0. Gerardo Baeza added a field goal, Travis Terrell Jr. scored on a short run and Jackson State (9-2, 7-1 Southwestern Athletic Conference) led 17-0 after one quarter. Alcorn State (5-7, 4-4) cut its deficit to 10 on Jaylon Tolbert's 64-yard scoring strike to Tyran Warren, but Lockhart and Nate Rembert teamed up on a 55-yard touchdown pass on the next play and Jackson State led 24-7 at halftime.

Reggie Davis scored on a 44-yard run seven plays into the third quarter to get the Braves within 10 points. Baeza kicked a short field goal with 9:06 left to play for Jackson State's only points of the second half. Tolbert delivered a 17-yard touchdown on a fourth-down pass to Warren to cut the deficit to six with 2:19 remaining. Lockhart totaled 194 yards on 15-for-17 passing. Rembert had seven receptions for 120 yards and Miller carried 15 times for 106 yards. Tolbert completed 21 of 33 passes for 234 yards. Warren had seven catches for 111 yards and Davis rushed 15 times for 120 yards. Jackson State tied Alabama State at 7-1 in the SWAC East Division, but the Tigers won the tiebreaker by virtue of their 38-34 road win over the Hornets on Oct. 11. - AP College Football

  Travis Terrell Jr. and Donerio Davenport each rushed for more than 100 yards and a touchdown, and Ahmad Miller also eclipsed the 100-yard mark to lead a 360-yard rushing performance from Jackson State in a 28-13 win over Bethune-Cookman on Sunday. Terrell went for 103 yards on 11 carries with a 25-yard touchdown. Davenport had 106, with a 6-yard score and a 36-yard scamper. Miller added 118 yards on 22 carries for the FCS coaches' poll No. 16 Tigers (8-2, 6-1 Southwestern Athletic Conference). Jared Lockhart connected with Jameel Gardner Jr. for an 83-yard Tigers' touchdown 44 seconds into the game.

Javon Ross returned the ensuing kickoff for the Wildcats (5-6, 4-3) to make it 7-7 less than a minute in. Jackson State outgained Bethune-Cookman 342-93 in the first half, but only led 14-10 after a missed field goal and an interception from Lockhart that led to a Wildcats' field goal as time expired in the first half. Lockhart was 12-of-21 passing for 160 yards. Cam'Ron Ransom was 15-of-28 passing with 215 yards and two interceptions for the Wildcats, including an 82-yard pick-6 by B.J.   Jared Lockhart tossed two touchdowns, both to Nate Rembert, and FCS No. 19 Jackson State beat Mississippi Valley State 42-3 on Saturday. The Tigers (7-2, 5-1 Southwestern Athletic Conference) paired 241 yards passing with 217 rushing and three touchdowns on the ground. Travis Terrell Jr. ran 10 times for 56 yards and a score, Donerio Davenport added a 2-yard touchdown run and Ja'Naylon Dupree broke a 22-yarder in the fourth quarter. Rembert finished with six receptions for 97 yards, including gains of 46 and 14 on his touchdown grabs. Jackson State finished with 458 total yards and did not throw an interception.

Mike Smith III produced the game's defensive highlight for Jackson State with a 60-yard interception return for a touchdown in the third quarter. The Tigers forced two turnovers and allowed 179 yards, holding Mississippi Valley State to just 53 on the ground. The Delta Devils (1-8, 0-5) got their points on Marko Jovisic's 42-yard field goal late in the second quarter. Brandon Nunez went 15 of 34 for 126 yards passing with one interception.   Ahmad Miller ran for 165 yards and two touchdowns and Donerio Davenport totaled 112 yards rushing with a touchdown and Jackson State used the second half to throttle Florida A&M 41-16 on Saturday. The Tigers (6-2, 4-1 Southwestern Athletic Conference), ranked No. 20 in the FCS coaches poll, scored 31 second-half points after going to halftime ahead 10-3. Jared Lockhart, who threw for 104 yards, had a 42-yard touchdown pass to Nate Rembert about two-and-a-half minutes into the second half. Davenport then ran it in from the 6 following a FAMU fumble on the kickoff following Rembert's score. The Rattlers (3-5, 2-2) got their first touchdown when RJ Johnson III completed a 5-yard scoring pass to Jamal Hailey to end an 11-play, 75-yard drive that last five minutes.   JaCobian Morgan tied his career high with five touchdown passes and Jackson State made a late goal-line stand to finish off a 38-34 victory over Alabama State on Saturday. Morgan pulled off a late comeback for Jackson State (5-1, 3-0 Southwestern Athletic Conference) - ranked 14th in the FCS coaches poll - when he connected with Nate Rembert for an 18-yard touchdown to retake the lead with 50 seconds remaining. Alabama State moved the ball to the Jackson State 2-yard line and called a final timeout with one second left. Ashton Taylor tackled Jamarie Hostzclaw short of the goal line to seal the result and send Jackson State to the top spot in the SWAC's East Division.

Morgan was 16-of-23 passing for 191 yards, and the Tigers scored in all five trips to the red zone. Jackson State led by 11 points with 9:18 remaining in the fourth quarter after Quincy Ivory intercepted Andrew Body, setting up a 5-yard Ja'Naylon Dupree touchdown catch on a pass from Morgan. Alabama State (4-2, 2-1) responded with a five-play 75-yard touchdown drive that took 2:11 off the clock. Jackson State's ensuing drive was nearly costly. Jameel Gardner Jr. secured a first down on a third-and-8 catch, but was stripped by Jalil Lenore for an Alabama State recovery and return by Zaquan Patterson. Lenore led all players with 15 tackles. The Hornets turned that opportunity into a 15-yard touchdown by Hostzclaw three plays later for a 34-31 lead.
