Former Eastern Michigan University tight end Thomas Odukoya (Almere, Netherlands-Helen Parkhurst (Garden City)) has joined the Tennessee Titans organization of the National Football League (NFL), the team and league announced today, May 3. Odukoya is one of just four athletes, paired down from 13 originally, selected for a spot in the NFL's International Player Pathway program. Instituted in 2017, the program aims to provide elite international athletes the opportunity to compete at the NFL level, improve their skills, and ultimately earn a spot on an NFL roster.

Last season, two players who entered the NFL through the IPP program, Jakob Johnson of the New England Patriots and Jordan Mailata of the Philadelphia Eagles, recorded their 1000th career snap. They join Efe Obada of the Buffalo Bills in IPP players to reach this milestone in their NFL Career. Given the program's success to date, the NFL widened its search for international talent, hosting combines in England and Mexico this past October with 56 players from 16 countries participating. In 2022, the league identified 13 top athletes from nine countries, including Odukoya, that competed for a place in the program. - Ann Arbor News

2021 ALL-MAC SECOND TEAM (COACHES): Wide Receiver - Hassan Beydoun, Eastern Michigan,...Earning honors for the second straight season after being named to the All-MAC third team in 2020, Beydoun brings home a second team nod in 2021. Beydoun has recorded three games with 10+ catches this season. He is currently one of only three players in the NCAA to have three-or-more such games (Jerreth Sterns - Western Kentucky.; Drake London - Southern California).

Beydoun was electric in EMU's win at Toledo, Nov. 2. He finished the game with a career-high 197 reception yards on 12 catches. Additionally, the wideout's effort is the 14th best by any player in the NCAA this season. The 197 yards is the most by any Eagle receiver in a game this year and the second-best effort by any player in the MAC. The Dearborn, Mich. native hauled in a season-long 64-yard touchdown in EMU's opening drive of the second half against the Rockets. The reception was the second-longest of Beydoun's career, just two yards shy of the 66-yard catch he recorded at Western Michigan, Dec. 5, 2020. - Eastern Michigan Football
