  Aaron Winchester fired three touchdown passes, including two in the second half, as Central Connecticut State moved to 4-0 in the Northeast Conference with a 27-13 win over Wagner Saturday afternoon. The Blue Devils were ranked No. 19 in both Football Championship Subdivision polls following their 28-0 shutout of LIU a week ago, matching their highest-ever ranking. Winchester, the reigning NEC Offensive Player of the Week, found Arthur Gilmore Jr. from 13-yards out in the first quarter to put the Blue Devils in front, 6-3 after Wagner blocked the extra point. CCSU (8-1, 4-0) scored again at the start of the second quarter when Alonzo Mitchell returned a blocked Wagner punt two yards for a touchdown to make it 13-3.

Ryan Yost rallied the Seahawks (1-8, 1-3) by hitting Joshua DelCambre from 20-yards out and Eric Silvester, who hit from 34-yards to open the game, nailed a 21-yard field goal as time expired in the first half to send the game into intermission at 13-13. Winchester hit Kyren Petteway with a 39-yard touchdown and Tyshaun James from 35-yards out in the second half to put the game away. Winchester was 13-19 for 213 yards with an interception. Tying for team-high honors, the linebacker logged seven tackles in the 28-0 shutout victory. He made 2.0 tackles-for-loss highlighted by 1.5 sacks.

Jones, who was also credited with a forced fumble and one pass break-up, started strong by teaming up with Justin Kennedy to sack the quarterback for a 9-yard loss that ended LIU's opening possession. Jones was wreaking havoc again early in the second quarter. With LIU facing a 1st-and-10 from the CCSU 42-yard line in a scoreless game, the 6-foot-3 linebacker made a strip sack at the LIU 48 and the ensuing recovery set up the Blue Devils' offense at the LIU 35.   Aaron Winchester threw for two touchdowns and the Central Connecticut defense held Long Island to 9 yards rushing in a 28-0 victory on Saturday. Enyce Walker added a pair of 1-yard touchdown runs for the Blue Devils (7-1, 3-0 Northeast), whose only lost came to FBS opponent Eastern Michigan. CCSU, ranked 24th in the FCS coaches poll, has won four straight. Winchester rolled left before quickly finding Arthur Gilmore Jr. alone in the middle of the end zone for a 4-yard score and a 14-0 halftime lead. He found Theo Zidor open at the 15 down the left side for a 51-yard touchdown in the third quarter. The dual-threat signal caller, who was responsible for four first-half touchdowns, totaled 389 yards of offense in a 52-14 triumph over NEC rival Bryant.

He averaged 12.0 yards per pass attempt and 16.1 yards per carry. Completing 68.4 percent of his passes, Winchester threw for 228 yards and connected on a pair of first-quarter scoring strikes to Kyren Petteway. Eight seconds into the second quarter, Winchester dashed 42 yards to paydirt to give CCSU a 21-0 lead. The 6-foot-2 field general was back in the end zone 8:00 later after tucking the ball away on a roll out and turning upfield for a 56-yard touchdown run.   Aaron Winchester threw for two touchdowns and ran for two more - all in the first half - and Central Connecticut defeated Bryant 52-14 on Saturday. Winchester passed for first-quarter touchdowns of 41 and 34 yards to Kyren Pettaway then ran for scores of 42 and 56 yards in the second quarter as the Blue Devils (6-1, 2-0 Northeast Conference) went ahead 28-7 on the way to a 28-14 halftime lead. In the second half, Danley Exilhomme scored on a 2-yard run and his brother, DJ, scored on a 40-yard return of a fumble less than a minute later.

The Blue Devils, ranked No. 25 in the STATS FCS poll and playing their first home game since Sept. 7, outgained the Bulldogs (2-6, 1-2) 555 yards to 279. It was Central Connecticut's first game since Ryan McCarthy was promoted from head coach to interim coach. He was named interim coach in the spring when Pete Rossomando left to become an assistant coach at Rutgers. The 6-foot-3 wideout accounted for a 27-yard rush and a 50-yard reception on back-to-back plays to power a fourth-quarter scoring drive that brought the Blue Devils within 28-22.   Keonte Lucas ran for 190 yards - 160 coming on two runs in the third quarter - and Central Connecticut beat Valparaiso 42-13 on Saturday. The Crusaders narrowed their deficit to 14-13 with 5:45 left in the third quarter when Chris Duncan plunged in from a yard out. On the first play following the kickoff, Lucas ran 75 yards to score. On the ensuing drive for Valpo, Kendall Coles picked off Duncan and returned the ball 30 yards to the end zone for a 28-13 lead.

Valpo went three-and-out, which led to Lucas's 85-yard touchdown jaunt to put the game away. Lucas averaged 19 yards per carry and Central Connecticut (3-0) ran for 315 total. The Blue Devils' defense stymied Valparaiso (0-2) as Coles, Dexter Lawson Jr., Jahlil Brown, Marlon Brown Jr., and Romelo Williams all gathered interceptions against Duncan and backup Joe Mullen.
