  08/21/19 - Prince Tega WanoghorSr/2020, Auburn, 6-5, 308 (DS#11 OT) + More +

Prince Tega Wanogho came to Alabama wanting to be the next LeBron James. He became Auburn's left tackle instead. Wanogho now is the anchor of the 16th-ranked Tigers' all-senior offensive line, some five years after he stepped on a football field for the first time. A native of Delta State, Nigeria, Wanogho came to Alabama as a 16-year-old hoping to land a college scholarship - in basketball. He wound up at Edgewood Academy in suburban Montgomery after getting noticed at a basketball camp. Wanogho then obliged when an Edgewood coach suggested giving football a shot, but he didn't know much about the sport that is king in the state.

He played defensive end at about 225 pounds and quickly started getting interest from football programs, enough so that a reporter asked him if Alabama coach Nick Saban had visited. "I was like, 'Who's Nick Saban?' It's crazy, because everybody thought it was funny," said Wanogho, who also played soccer growing up. "My teammates and coaches. The dude that was doing the interview, he thought it was funny, too. He was shocked because I didn't know who coach Nick Saban was. When I said that, everybody was surprised. "I was like you can't blame me because I came all the way from Nigeria and I'm here playing a new game. I don't really know what goes on here. I didn't even really know how big it was at that time. The whole time I was being recruited, I didn't know how big that was." - AP College Football

The Reese's Senior Bowl has released their 2020 Watch List for the 71st annual game to be played at Ladd-Peebles Stadium in Mobile, Alabama on January 25, 2020. The Senior Bowl's 2020 Watch List includes athletes from nearly every level of college football. These are the players who we are looking to fill the 110 roster spots that form the North and South squads for the nation's premier all-star game. A player not on the initial list can be added to the watch list during the season and be invited to the 2020 game. - The Reese's Senior Bowl

As far as Preseason Watch lists go, to me and I been at this a while, see and study a lot of trends...this is THE list to be on. Over the years it has grown to support almost three full All-Star games as well. If you made the list but are not selected as one of the 110 invited to the Senior Bowl for whatever reason but you can play, not injured, etc., chances are high you will be invited to another All-Star game.

  08/13/19 - Will HastingsrSr/2020, Auburn, 5-10, 175 (DS#167 WR) + More +

The receiving corps around him have changed since the last time he played. Guys like Seth Williams, Anthony Schwartz, Zach Farrar, Sal Cannella, and others, were not even on the roster when Hastings went off for 525 yards and four TDs in 2017. Now, he's going to fight to recapture that role in his final year at AU. "I think he'll have a chance to play in the NFL," Malzahn said of the 5-foot-10, 174-pound receiver. "Will, last year, not having him, it really hurt us. Will can get open versus anybody covering him in a man-to-man situation. He looks like he's about 13 years old, too. If you ever see him, you wouldn't think he's an SEC player."

Hastings has put on about six pounds over the offseason, and he is one of the oldest players on the team, and is also engaged. So though the boyish reputation might follow him around, there's been a lot of growing up for Hastings. Part of that, too, came with the injuries. While he was rehabbing from last spring's ACL surgery, he had to undergo another in October, just as he was getting ready to see the field again, his season was ended. The talk of the NFL from Malzahn, and other Auburn coaches, is a nice thought. And given his talent, who knows, maybe there is that pathway. But it will also be completely contingent on the health of his knee this season. Two ACL surgeries can be one heck of a deterrent. - Birmingham News

Auburn coach Gus Malzahn isn't ruling out Anthony Schwartz playing in the opener against Oregon after the wide receiver underwent hand surgery. Malzahn says Schwartz had the procedure on Monday. He didn't have a timetable for his return but says he's "not going to say yes or no" on whether the sophomore will miss a game. The Tigers and Oregon open Aug. 31 in Arlington, Texas. Schwartz, who missed spring practice while running for the track team, was a versatile threat for the Tigers as a freshman. He ran for 211 yards and five touchdowns and added 357 yards and a pair of scores receiving. - AP College Football
