09/07 WEEK 1 MEAC OFFENSIVE LINEMAN OF THE WEEK: James Reddick II, SC State, 5th, OL, Fort Valley, Ga.,...James Reddick II anchored a dominant South Carolina State offensive line that helped the Bulldogs produce 479 yards of total offense in their 31-13 victory over Florida A&M in the Orange Blossom Classic. Reddick II, who played center, posted a 91% blocking grade and recorded seven pancake blocks while committing no penalties and allowing no sacks. Down 13-10 in the third quarter against Louisville, the Ole Miss Rebels built a 14-point lead in the fourth quarter. The Cardinals battled back to tie the game, 38-38, but with 1:28 left on the clock, Ole Miss drove down the field and kicked the game-winning field goal as time expired. Despite the victory, Ole Miss drops one spot to No. 11 in this week's US LBM Coaches Poll. Ohio State is still ranked No. 1 following their 56-3 win over Ball State, setting up a 1 vs. 3 matchup against Texas this coming Saturday night in Austin, Texas. Georgia moves up to No. 2, with Notre Dame at No. 4 and Indiana rounding out the top five. Tarleton State traveled to the state of Ohio for the first time since 1991 and faced FBS-member Bowling Green for the first time. The Texans walked away with a 20-13 victory, their second straight against an FBS opponent after upsetting Army in double overtime, 30-27, in 2025. Tarleton State remains No. 5 in this week's AFCA FCS Coaches Poll. Montana State still holds the top spot after beating Butler, 51-24, and moving to 2-0 on the season. In-state rival Montana moves back to the second spot after South Dakota State lost to FBS-member, Northwestern, 34-18, and dropped to No. 3. Illinois State stayed at No. 4 after handing Western Illinois a 34-18 loss.

Just two games into their first season as a member of the Football Championship Subdivision, West Florida makes its first appearance in the AFCA FCS Coaches Poll at No. 22. The Argonauts beat their second straight ranked opponent, this time taking down then-No. 24 Central Arkansas, 42-14. They get a week off before facing their third ranked opponent in No. 15 Austin Peay on September 19. Idaho State follows West Florida as the second newcomer to this week's poll. The Bengals stunned FBS-member Utah State, 29-17, in Logan and jump into the poll at No. 24. - American Football Coaches Association

09/07 WEEK 1 SEC CO-DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Rasheem Biles, Texas, Position: Linebacker, Class: Senior, Hometown: Columbus, Ohio,...Texas' Rasheem Biles, a senior linebacker from Columbus, Ohio, totaled five tackles with a half tackle for loss and forced two turnovers - a forced fumble and an interception - in leading the Longhorns to a 59-7 season-opening win over Texas State. The forced fumble resulted in a 59-yard return touchdown by teammate Graceson Littleton for a 28-0 lead, while the interception set up the Texas offense at the Bobcats' 45-yard line and led to a touchdown three plays later for a 49-7 advantage. His tackle for loss came on the second possession of the game on a third-and-2, forcing a fourth down that the Bobcats went for and failed to get. It was Biles' first career game with both a forced fumble and an interception, while the turnovers marked the fourth forced fumble and fourth interception of his career. Biles led a Texas defense that limited a high-powered Bobcats' offense to just seven points and 349 total yards, with only 188 in the air. - SEC Football
