North Texas Football   UCF's Tayven Jackson threw for 223 yards and scored a passing and rushing touchdown to guide UCF to a 34-9 victory over North Carolina. The Knights were mostly methodical throughout the game, with three touchdown drives of longer than five minutes. But they scored a critical touchdown on a 64-second, six-play, 83-yard drive to close the second half when Jackson found Kylan Fox for an 18-yard score. After forcing a punt to open the third quarter, the Knights scored on a short run from Myles Montgomery to take a 24-point lead and coasted to the finish, getting a rushing touchdown from Jaden Nixon on the team's final drive with less than two minutes left. The Tar Heels could not respond to the Knights' long drives.

UNC quarterback Gio Lopez struggled with 11-for-14 passing and 87 yards. The Tar Heels tallied only 217 yards. The Knights had 366. UCF forced two interceptions in the first half, picking off Lopez on a deflected pass at the line by Horace Lockett that was snagged by defensive end Nyjalik Kelly. They also got a second deflected pass when Jayden Bellamy tipped a pass to Braeden Marshall to stop a deep North Carolina drive. Lopez left the game in the third quarter with an apparent right leg injury after he was tackled on a fourth-down conversion. Lopez left the field in a cart after an extended time in the medical tent. Max Johnson took over, finishing the drive with a touchdown throw to Nathan Leacock late in the third quarter. He had 67 yards on 11-for-19 passing to go with his touchdown. - UCF/AP College Football

Mississippi State Football   Mississippi State moved to 4-0 for the first time since 2014 with a 38-10 win over Northern Illinois on Saturday. The Bulldogs navigated sloppy play for most of the game but pulled away late in the win. Mississippi State trailed 3-0 after the first possession and led just 14-10 going into halftime before outscoring the Huskies 17-0 in the second half. The ground game is what got the Bulldogs there as they averaged 6.0 yards per carry 49 attempts for 292 yards against a defense that has been stingy against the run. NIU (1-2) came into the game surrendering just 74.0 yards per game, including holding Maryland under 100 yards a week ago.

Leading the charge on the ground for Mississippi State was South Alabama transfer Fluff Bothwell, who notched 100 yards for the first time in his Bulldogs career. Bothwell rushed 17 times for 101 yards and Davon Booth scored two touchdowns to lead the way. Xavier Gayten came in and had four carries for 45 yards and scored a touchdown late in the game. Blake Shapen was 12 of 20 for 160 yards and a touchdown and had 11 carries for 51 yards. The Bulldogs had 452 yards of total offense and overcame 11 penalties for 104 yards.   Illinois State Football   Tommy Rittenhouse threw a touchdown pass and 2-point conversion to Daniel Sobkowicz in the second overtime, Cam Wilson intercepted a pass to end the game, and Illinois State escaped with a wild 38-36 win over North Alabama on Saturday in a game that had two hour-long weather delays. Ari Patu matched Rittenhouse by throwing an 18-yard touchdown pass to Justin Pegues on fourth-and-3 but had his successful 2-point pass to KJ Fields negated by a chop block, setting up Wilson's clinching interception in the end zone. Ian Vachon had a 42-yard field goal and Matt Maldonado answered from 38 in the first overtime, overshadowing their misses in the final minute of regulation.

Illinois State (3-1), ranked fourth in the FCS coaches poll, never trailed and was up 27-21 on Maldonado's career-best 51-yard field goal with 2:36 left in regulation. North Alabama marched 75 yards and tied the game on a 25-yard pass from Patu to Fields with 33 seconds remaining, but Vachon hit the left upright on the PAT attempt. Rittenhouse had a 27-yard completion and 16-yard run, setting up a 39-yard field goal attempt for Maldonado with 11 seconds left but Kaleb Brown blocked the kick. Rittenhouse threw for 250 yards and three touchdowns and ran for 85 yards on nine carries. Sobkowica had 10 catches for 150 yards and two scores. Patu had 243 yards and four touchdown passes with Pegues catching 10 for 91 yards and two scores. Illinois State led 17-0 nothing before the first delay late in the second quarter.   Oregon Football   Dante Moore threw for 305 yards and a career-high four touchdowns, and No. 6 Oregon rolled to a 41-7 victory over former Pac-12 foe Oregon State on Saturday before the rivalry goes on a break next season. Moore was 21-of-31 passing and spread his scoring strikes to four different receivers for the Ducks (4-0, 1-0 Big Ten), who had 585 yards in total offense. Anthony Hankerson ran for 38 yards on 14 carries and the lone touchdown for the 0-4 Beavers. The rivalry between the two Oregon schools started in 1894, but next year it will go on hiatus because of scheduling issues. It is likely to resume in 2027. Before conference realignment collapsed the Pac-12, the rivalry was the final game of the regular season and it often had bowl implications.

Last year Oregon played its first season in the Big Ten, winning the conference's championship game. Oregon State and Washington State, the lone two teams left in the Pac-12, have spearheaded the league's revival. Next year they'll be joined by new members Texas State, Boise State, Colorado State, Fresno State, San Diego State and Utah State. Gonzaga joins as a non-football member. Oregon freshman Dakorien Moore scored on the Ducks' first drive of the game with a 22-yard touchdown reception. For a winless team, the Beavers were surprisingly resilient early and tied the game at 7 on Hankerson's 1-yard touchdown run late in the first quarter. Oregon went back in front on Moore's 23-yard scoring pass to Sadiq Kenyon and Jordon Davison added a 3-yard TD dash to make it 21-7 at halftime. After the break, Moore found Jeremiah McClellan with a 13-yard touchdown and Atticus Sappington kicked a 24-yard field goal. Gary Bryant Jr. caught a 49-yard touchdown from Moore and Sappington added a 28-yarder to seal it in the fourth. - Oregon/AP College Football
