Central Connecticut Football   WEEK 13 NEC OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Elijah Howard, Central Connecticut,...Running Back, Senior, 5-10, 185 lbs., Knoxville, TN/Baylor School (Virginia Tech),...Week 13 Stats: 163 rushing yards, 25 rushes, 6.5 yards per rush, 2 rushing touchdowns, 25 receiving yards, 4 receptions, 1 receiving touchdown,...Howard put an exclamation point on the NEC's first 1,000-yard rushing season since 2023 in Saturday's regular season finale against Mercyhurst. The senior saved one of his best outings of the year for when it mattered most, as he totaled 188 all-purpose yards and three touchdowns to lead the Blue Devils to a 35-28 home win that clinched a berth to the FCS Playoffs for the second time in as many seasons. On the afternoon, Howard carried the ball 25 times for two touchdowns and 163 yards, including his 1,000th of the season midway through the second quarter, to run away with the NEC's rushing title.

Opening the contest with a 22-yard run into the end zone, the Knoxville, TN native made it a 14-14 game at the end of the first quarter with a four-yard touchdown run. Howard, who added 25 yards on four receptions, went on to provide the go-ahead score with 11:14 left in the fourth quarter when he caught an eight-yard touchdown pass from Brady Olson to make it a 35-28 lead. He enters the FCS Playoffs with a league-leading 1,078 yards rushing and 98.0 rushing yards per game to rank 13th in the nation, while his league-leading 11 rushing scores are good for 24th in the FCS. He concludes the season with a league-best three NEC/Atlantic Tomorrow's Office Offensive Player of the Week awards. - NEC Football

Tying up the contest at 17-all with a 34-yard field goal with 8:18 left to play in the fourth quarter, the senior drilled a 33-yarder as time expired to lift the Dukes to the 20-17 win at crosstown rival Robert Morris. The Keystone State product's game-clinching field goal at the buzzer was the first for Duquesne since Charlie Leventry walked it off for the Dukes with a successful 31-yard conversion at Sacred Heart on Nov. 14, 2009. Going perfect in each of his four scoring attempts after turning in a perfect 2-for-2 effort on PATs, Clark also handled the kickoff duties for his squad. On four attempts, he totaled 232 yards with a touchback to average 58.0 yards per kickoff on the afternoon. Clark finished with two NEC/Atlantic Tomorrow's Office Special Teams Player of the Week awards. He is one of three Dukes to earn the distinction this season, joining Joel Kpassou (Oct. 13) and Michael Berarducci (Nov. 17). - NEC Football

The Liberty Borough, PA native recorded a career-high 12 tackles, including nine solo stops, but those marks were overshadowed by his end-of-game heroics that sealed the Dukes' 38-33 win over then-undefeated Central Connecticut. With 36 seconds left, the redshirt senior defensive back recorded an end-zone interception on the potential go-ahead score to hold off a Blue Devis' squad that scored on each of their previous two drives. The pick was the second of Epps' career. In addition, his 12 stops were tied for the most by a Duke in a game this season. This is the first career weekly award for Epps, a 2024 All-NEC first teamer, and the third NEC/Atlantic Tomorrow's Office Defensive Player of the Week award for Duquesne this season. - NEC Football

Duquesne Football   WEEK 12 NEC OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Taj Butts, Duquesne,...Running Back, Redshirt-Senior, 5-11, 205 lbs., St. Louis, MO/De Smet (Missouri),...Week 12 Stats: 254 rushing yards, 14 rushes, 3 rushing touchdowns, 18.1 yard per rush,...Butts delivered one of the NEC's most explosive outings in recent history, and the timing could not have been better for Duquesne. The veteran powered the Dukes' offense to a 38-33 win in a back-and-forth slugfest against Central Connecticut, which entered the contest with a perfect 5-0 mark against NEC foes. With the win, Duquesne remains in the race for a share of the NEC regular season title and the league's AQ to the NCAA FCS Playoffs. A native of St. Louis, Butts racked up a career-high 254 rushing yards — the seventh most by an FCS running back this year — and three rushing touchdowns on just 14 carries for an exceptional 18.1 yard-per-rush average.

He found the end zone on runs of 29, 57 and 59 yards to become the first Duke to eclipse the 250-rushing yard mark since 2003 and the first player in the conference this year to register multiple 50-yard runs in the same game this season. In addition, he compiled the most rushing yards by an NEC player since Central Connecticut's Elijah Howard ran for 257 vs. Delaware State on Dec. 7, 2023. Butts' 59-yard run with 3:19 left to play ultimately sealed the win just two plays after the Blue Devils took a lead. On the season, Butts has four rushing scores and 546 rushing yards. He joins quarterback Tyler Riddell and fellow linemate Ness Davis as NEC/Atlantic Tomorrow's Office Offensive Player of the Week honorees from Duquesne. Butts' performance also garnered him national recognition, as he was pegged the Stats Perform FCS National Offensive Player of the Week. - NEC Football

The defensive back posted a game-high 12 tackles, including nine solo stops, to anchor a Skyhawks' back line that allowed just 10 points and racked up five turnovers in a 10-point win over visiting Saint Francis. The 12 tackles marked a career-best effort for the Newton, MA native, with his previous personal-best mark of 11 coming at Duquesne last month. In addition, Busa, who had 2.5 tackles-for-loss and 0.5 sacks, returned his second career interception for 28 yards. Busa concluded his sophomore season with 74 tackles, second-most among fellow Skyhawks, and a team-high eight pass breakups. With his honor, Stonehill landed a pair of NEC/Atlantic Tomorrow's Office Defensive Player of the Week awards as junior linebacker Charles Battaglia earned the distinction on Sept. 29. - NEC Football

The true freshman contributed eight points to Wagner's count on Saturday as the Seahawks defeated visiting Stonehill by a 20-14 final for their fourth-straight win. That rally marks the program's longest since winning six-in-a-row in a banner-raising 2012 campaign. In addition, with the win, Wagner remains in contention for a share of the 2025 NEC regular season title. Converting on the extra point on Jordan Johnson's pick-6, the first score of the game, Romero pushed the Seahawks' lead to 10-0 before the end of the opening quarter with a 40-yard field goal. Later in the game, he pushed the advantage to 13 with a 41-yarder eight seconds into the final period. The Pembroke Pines, FL has been on point as of late, going a perfect 20-for-20 in his last kick attempts with eight successful field goals and 12 PAT conversions. On the season, he ranks third in the FCS in field goal percentage (.923) while his 12 made field goals and 1.1 field goal per game average are both good for first in the NEC. - NEC Football

On six punts, the redshirt senior averaged 50.7 yards per boot to consistently flip field position in the back-and-forth slugfest. Included in his afternoon was a 67-yard blast — a punt that is tied for the fifth-longest in Duquesne history and is currently the fifth-longest in the NEC this season. Placing four punts inside the 20-yard line, Berarducci also delivered three punts over 60 yards with each of his four attempts going for more than 50 yards. With nine punts 50-yarders this season, the Allison Park, PA native tops the league's charts with 42.5 yards per punt this season. He is the second Duke this season to garner the award, joining kick returner Joel Kpassou. - NEC Football

Saint Francis (PA) Football   WEEK 11 NEC SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Mac Plummer, Saint Francis,...Kicker, Redshirt Senior, 5-10, 175, Lebanon, PA/Annville Cleona,...Week 11 Stats: 15 points, 5-for-6 FG (28, 34, 26, 20, 25 yards), 2 kickoffs, 101 yards (50.0 yards per kickoff),...Plummer had an extremely busy day on Saturday in Saint Francis' penultimate home game of 2025 against Keystone State foe Mercyhurst. Converting on all but one of his six field goal attempts, the redshirt senior accounted for all 15 points of his team's points in a game that saw the Red Flash come painstakingly close to scoring their first win of the season. A product of Lebanon, PA, Plummer split the uprights from 28, 34 and 26 yards in the first half to send Saint Francis into the locker room with a halftime lead of 9-0. Following a 10-0 Mercyhurst run in the third quarter, Plummer, whose lone misfire came on a blocked field goal in the opening minutes of the fourth, bounced back and put his team back in front with consecutive conversions from 20 and 25 yards at 1:50 and 1:07, respectively. The Lakers spoiled the redshirt senior's heroics, though, as a 15-yard touchdown throw with just 20 seconds remaining secured the win for the visiting squad. His five field goals were the most by a player in the nation this season. In addition, of the eight place kickers in the FCS that have drilled four field goals in a game, Plummer is the only one to have accounted for all of his team's points. He has gone 10-of-13 on the season and averages 1.0 field goals per game. - NEC Football
