  10/10/25 - QB Sam Leavitt, rJr/2028, LSU + More +

LSU Football   Arizona State quarterback Sam Leavitt is expected to miss the Sun Devils' road game against Utah on Saturday with an undisclosed injury. The No. 21 Sun Devils (4-1, 2-0 Big 12) have won three straight games while Utah (4-1, 1-1) had a lopsided win over West Virginia last weekend. "Sam's been battling something going back to Baylor - he fought through the TCU game," Sun Devils coach Kenny Dillingham told Arizona Sports 98.7 FM on Friday. "Sam does everything he possibly can to come back and play in football games. He's the ultimate competitor. "This week, it just didn't feel as good as we wanted it to leaving Wednesday's practice," Dillingham added. "I think this is the best thing for him and the future season." Leavitt has completed 63.1% of his passes this season for 1,039 yards, eight touchdowns and three interceptions. The sophomore has also run for 281 yards and five touchdowns. Jeff Sims is expected to get the start against Utah. The sixth-year player completed 12 of 23 passes for 155 yards in a start against Cincinnati last season. - AP College Football

Tulane Football   Jake Retzlaff passed for 347 yards and two touchdowns, and the Tulane defense batted down a pass in the end zone on the final play to secure a 26-19 victory over East Carolina on Thursday night. After ECU tied it at 19-all with 5:48 left in the fourth quarter, Tulane went on a 12-play, 75-yard drive that took over five minutes of the clock. Javin Gordon caught a short pass and ran untouched into the end zone with 35 seconds left for the lead. ECU marched down the field, aided by two pass interference calls, to get to the Tulane 36-yard line. But Katin Houser’s Hail Mary pass was broken up as time expired.

Tulane (5-1, 2-0) improved to 6-2 against East Carolina (3-3, 1-1) since the programs joined the American Conference in 2014. Houser was 19 of 30 for 180 yards and a touchdown for ECU.   Central Connecticut Football   WEEK 6 NEC OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Brady Olson, Central Connecticut, Quarterback, Senior, 6-4, 205 lbs., Bellingham, MA/Milford (UMass), Week 6 Stats: 28-for-40, 323 passing yards, 4 passing touchdowns, 0 interceptions, 58 rushing yards, 6 carries, 1 rushing TD,...Olson shredded Sacred Heart's defense to the tune of a career-high 323 passing yards and four touchdown throws, including a game-clinching 25-yard pass to reigning NEC Offensive Player of the Year Elijah Howard in overtime, on Saturday. The senior was running on all cylinders in the 42-35 triumph, accounting for each of the Blue Devils' five touchdowns after adding a rushing score with 2:54 left to play in the fourth quarter. Most impressively, Olson, who completed 28-of-40 passes and had a career-best 58 rushing yards on six carries to his count, did not commit a turnover for the fifth time this season.

His 300-passing yard outing was the first for a Blue Devil since current CFL quarterback Jake Dolegala threw for 341 against Robert Morris on Oct. 16, 2018. A native of Bellingham, MA, Olson boasts the league's best touchdown/interception ratio with 11 touchdown throws and just one pick in six games. He is averaging 213.0 passing yards per game to rank third in the conference, while his 11 touchdown passes are good for third in the circuit. This is Olson's first NEC/Atlantic Tomorrow's Office Offensive Player of the Week honor, and the first for a Blue Devil quarterback since Aaron Winchester was a three-time recipient of the award in 2019. - NEC Football
