Utah Football   Byrd Ficklin passed for two touchdowns and ran for another in his first career start to lead Utah to a 53-7 win over Colorado on Saturday night. Ficklin, a true freshman, filled in for injured starter Devon Dampier and hit the ground running – literally. He piled up 163 yards and a touchdown on the ground by halftime and finished with 291 yards on offense. Wayshawn Parker added 145 yards and a touchdown on 10 carries to help the Utes (6-2, 3-2 Big 12) become bowl eligible after winning just two conference games a year ago. Utah ran for a season-high 422 yards – eclipsing 400 rushing yards for the first time this season. Kaidon Salter tallied 37 yards and an interception on 9-of-22 passing for Colorado. Salter was sacked five times before halftime while facing nonstop pressure.

The Buffaloes (3-5, 1-4) lost to Utah for the 12th time in the last 14 meetings in the series. Colorado finished with 140 total yards and averaged 2.1 yards per play.Long-distance runs helped the Utes quickly seize control. Utah racked up 167 rushing yards and two touchdowns in the first quarter while averaging 12.8 yards per carry. Ficklin cut upfield and raced 63 yards untouched for a touchdown on Utah’s second play. Then, Parker, opened the Utes’ fourth drive by hitting a hole, turning on the jets, and racing 58 yards to extend the lead to 17-0. Ficklin added a pair of touchdown passes in the second quarter - a 22-yard pinpoint strike to JJ Buchanan and a 20-yard back shoulder throw to Larry Simmons - to help Utah take a 43-0 lead into halftime. - Utah/AP College Football

Texas-Rio Grande Valley Football   Eddie Lee Marburger threw a career-high six touchdown passes and ran for another score as UT Rio Grande Valley rolled to a 56-28 victory over Incarnate Word on Saturday night. Marburger was 26-of-36 passing for a career-best 440 yards. He threw a pair of touchdown passes to both Xayvion Noland and Ismael Smith Flores, and one each to Tony Diaz and Nathan Denney.

Diaz finished with a program-record 17 catches and a personal-best 172 yards. Diaz’s one-handed 3-yard touchdown grab late in the third quarter stretched the Vaqueros’ lead to 42-21. Noland had four receptions for 155 yards. UT Rio Grande Valley (6-2, 2-2 Southland Conference) scored on four if its first five drives and led 35-0 at halftime. EJ Colson completed 29 of 45 passes for 339 yards with two touchdown passes and had a 22-yard touchdown run for Incarnate Word (2-6, 0-4). He threw TD passes of 70 and 39 yards to Jalen Walthall, who finished with 10 catches for 220 yards. - AP College Football

Montana State Football   Justin Lamson threw for 176 yards and a touchdown, Julius Davis rushed for 175 yards and a score and Montana State was never threatened in its 34-17 win over Cal Poly on Saturday night. After Myles Sansted gave the No. 5-ranked FCS Bobcats (6-2, 4-0 Big Sky Conference) a 3-0 lead, Lamson threw a 19-yard scoring pass to Jared White for a 10-0 lead with 8:16 remaining before halftime.

The two teams exchanged field goals before halftime and to start the third the Bobcats drove 73 yards in seven plays on a series that concluded with Davis running it in from the 10 for a 20-3 advantage. Just seconds into the fourth quarter, Lamson ran it in from the 4 for a 27-3 lead. Cal Poly (3-5, 1-3) got its first touchdown when Bo Kelly threw a 16-yard scoring pass to Fidel Tau Pitts with 12:25 left in the game. Kelly threw for 188 yards and two touchdowns.   Texas AM Football   Marcel Reed passed for two touchdowns and ran for two more scores, and No. 3 Texas A&M turned a slim halftime deficit into a dominant 49-25 victory over 20th-ranked LSU on Saturday night. KC Conception caught one of Reed's TD tosses and returned a third-quarter punt 79 yards for another score for the unbeaten Aggies (8-0, 5-0 SEC). They snapped a six-game skid in LSU's Tiger Stadium, winning there for the first time since 1994. A&M is off to its best start since the 1992 Aggies went 12-0 in the regular season before losing to Notre Dame in the Cotton Bowl. Reed passed for 202 yards and rushed for 108, highlighted by his 41-yard TD scramble, as he continues to build a case for Heisman Trophy consideration.

Reed's other touchdown pass was a short flip to running back Jamarion Morrow, who covered most of the play's 24 yards after the catch. Morrow added an 11-yard TD rushing in the fourth quarter. Garrett Nussmeier, who eschewed the 2025 NFL draft to return to LSU (5-3, 2-3), saw his highly anticipated senior season continue to crumble. He passed for 168 yards, including a short TD pass to Trey'Dez Green, but the Tigers' offense could not keep up with Reed and Co. for 60 minutes. LSU led 18-14 at halftime, thanks in large part to big special teams and defensive plays in the second quarter. Jhase Thomas blocked an Aggies punt through the end zone for a safety. A.J. Haulcy's interception in the end zone set up freshman Harlem Berry's 7-yard touchdown run that gave LSU a 15-14 lead. Soon after, linebacker Harold Perkins intercepted a deflected pass near midfield. But LSU stalled in the red zone and settled for Damian Ramos' field goal for an 18-14 halftime lead. - Texas AM/AP College Football

Houston Football   Conner Weigman ran for two touchdowns and threw for another score, tight end Tanner Koziol had 100 yards receiving and Houston held on to beat No. 24 Arizona State 24-16 on Saturday night. The Cougars (7-1, 4-1 Big 12) won their third straight game and now have a good chance to move into the AP Top 25 for the first time since 2022. It was their first road win over a ranked team since 2017. Houston built a 24-0 early in the fourth quarter thanks to a methodical offense and physical defense that put pressure on quarterback Sam Leavitt. Eddie Walls III had two sacks. Arizona State (5-3, 3-2) rallied to cut it to 24-16 with 5:12 after backup quarterback Jeff Sims - playing for an apparently injured Leavitt - threw a 27-yard touchdown to Chamon Metayer. The Sun Devils got the ball back at their own 4 with a little more than two minutes remaining and a chance to tie, but couldn't muster a first down. It was a sloppy performance by the Sun Devils, who lost a fumble, had a player ejected for targeting, missed two field goal attempts and were called for 12 penalties.

The Cougars took a 10-0 lead into halftime and made it 17-0 early in the third quarter when Weigman hit Koziol for a 7-yard touchdown on a perfectly placed ball in the back of the end zone. Weigman - who played his first three college seasons at Texas A&M - finished with 201 yards passing and 111 yards rushing. Leavitt left the game midway through the first quarter after hitting the ground hard following a 14-yard run. He was down for a few minutes before eventually getting up and jogging to the sideline medical tent and then the locker room. Leavitt returned by the end of the first quarter, but by then the Sun Devils were already in a 10-0 hole. He finished with 270 yards passing. Malik McClain had 159 yards receiving. Arizona State was playing without Big 12 leading receiver Jordyn Tyson because of a hamstring injury. - Houston/AP College Football

Louisville Football   Isaac Brown ran for a career-high 205 yards and a touchdown to help No. 19 Louisville beat Boston College 38-24 on Saturday night. The Cardinals (6-1, 3-1 Atlantic Coast Conference) had 317 yards on the ground. Brown had 151 on just five carries in the first half. Brown's fumble on the first play of the second half led to Grayson James' 23-yard touchdown pass to Kaelan Chudzinksi that cut the Cardinals' lead to 21-17.

Miller Moss connected with Caullin Lacy on a 22-yard touchdown pass with 7:34 left to make it 28-17. That score was set up by Antonio Watts' fumble recovery at the Boston College 27. Moss completed 15 of 27 passes for 187 yards. He ran for a pair of touchdowns in the first half to go along with his passing score. The Eagles (1-7, 0-5) were down just 31-24 when they chose to punt near midfield with three minutes left. Keyjuan Brown scored on a 67-yard run with 1:49 remaining for the final touchdown.   Georgia Tech Football   Justice Haynes and Jordan Marshall helped No. 25 Michigan overcome its lack of a passing game to beat rival Michigan State. Haynes ran for 152 yards and two touchdowns and Marshall had 110 yards rushing and a score, leading the Woverines to a 31-20 win over the Spartans on Saturday night. "We've got a good running back tandem that plays physical and wears you down," coach Sherrone Moore said. Michigan (6-2, 4-1 Big Ten) overcame a lackluster game from freshman quarterback Bryce Underwood by running the ball effectively and making fewer mistakes.

The Spartans (3-5, 0-5) turned it over on downs midway through the fourth quarter at the Michigan 27, failing to convert a fourth-and-3 on Aidan Chiles' incomplete pass instead of attempting a field goal to potentially pull within eight points. "We were going to need a touchdown at some point in the game, and that's not a guaranteed three points," embattled coach Jonathan Smith said. Haynes fumbled at midfield on the ensuing possession, but Michigan State turned it over on downs again as Chiles could not run 1 yard to pick up a fourth down from the Wolverines 29. Michigan took advantage with Marshall's 56-yard touchdown run to seal the victory. Underwood was 8 of 17 for a season-low 86 yards. "My running backs stepped it up," Underwood said after running for 26 yards rushing and his fourth rushing touchdown of the season. Chiles was 14 of 28 for 130 and lost a fumble. He was replaced late in the game by Alessio Milivojevic, who threw a 21-yard touchdown pass to Michael Masunas. "I would give myself a D- grade," Chiles said. "Careless with the ball." Makhi Frazier had a career-high 109 yards rushing for the Spartans. - AP College Football

Tennessee Football   Joey Aguilar threw for 396 yards and three touchdowns, DeSean Bishop ran for a pair of touchdowns, and No. 17 Tennessee took advantage of two first quarter turnovers to beat Kentucky 56-34 on Saturday night. Aguilar completed touchdown passes of 35, 13, and 62 yards to pace the Volunteers (6-2, 3-2 Southeastern Conference). Chris Brazzell II had 138 yards receiving and Mike Matthews added 107 yards receiving and a touchdown each.

Kentucky's Cutter Boley tried to match Aguilar, throwing for 330 yards and a school record for a freshman quarterback five touchdowns, but also threw a pick-six that put the Wildcats (2-5, 0-5) in a 14-0 hole. He had scoring passes of 71, 56, 3, 28 and 7 yards. D.J. Miller had 120 yards receiving and two touchdowns. - Tennessee/AP College Football

Dye, a sophomore who did his damage on 24 carries for Southern Utah (3-5, 2-2 United Athletic Conference), scored on a 20-yard run to open the scoring in the first quarter. Will Burns ran it in for two points and Jayden Rogers added a 35-yard field goal for an 11-0 lead that held through a scoreless second quarter.

He had 233 yards on 27-for-41 passing with an interception. Rogers kicked a 22-yard field goal for the final margin. Bronson Barron completed 10 of 17 passes for 110 yards for the Thunderbirds.   Stephen F. Austin Football   Sam Vidlak threw two touchdown passes to Kylon Harris, Gavin Rutherford had two short touchdown runs, and Stephen F. Austin beat East Texas A&M 31-21 on Saturday night. Vidlak opened the scoring for Stephen F. Austin (6-2, 4-0 Southland Conference) with a 13-yard touchdown toss to Harris. Ron Peace answered with a 21-yard touchdown pass to Devin Matthews and a 6-yard touchdown run with 15 seconds left to give East Texas A&M (2-6, 2-2) a 14-7 lead after one quarter. Rutherford's 1-yard touchdown run was the lone score of the second quarter and pulled the Lumberjacks even at halftime. Vidlak connected with Harris from 38 yards out for the only score of the third quarter and Stephen F. Austin led 21-14.

KJ Shankle scored on a 1-yard run for the Lions to tie it at 21-all early in the fourth quarter. Lavon Williams intercepted Vidlak and returned it 46 yards to the Lumberjacks' 13-yard line to set up the score. The Lumberjacks, ranked No. 23 in the FCS coaches poll, regained the lead 28-21 when Rutherford scored from a yard out at the end of a 12-play drive with 7:21 left to play. Carlos Alvarado made it a two-score game with a 40-yard field goal inside the final two minutes. Vidlak totaled 309 yards on 30-for-46 passing but was picked off three times. Jerrell Wimbley rushed 26 times for 124 yards. Harris caught 16 passes for 183 yards - both career highs for the senior.   North Dakota State Football   Cole Payton accounted for 380 yards and four touchdown runs to lead undefeated North Dakota State to a 38-7 victory over previously-unbeaten South Dakota State on Saturday night for its second straight Dakota Marker trophy. The FCS defending national champion and top-ranked Bison (8-0, 5-0 Missouri Valley Football Conference) snapped a two-game skid at Dana J. Dykhouse Stadium for its first win there since 2019. The Bison have also won three straight against second-ranked South Dakota State (7-1, 3-1), including a 28-21 win at home in last season's NCAA semifinal matchup.

It was just the 10th matchup of No. 1 vs. 2 in FCS history, but only the fourth time it has happened in the regular season. Payton scored twice from short yardage and had a 57-yard TD run as the Bison built a 31-7 halftime lead. The Bison scored on five of six possessions and had 345 yards of offense in the first half. They finished with 500 yards overall and held South Dakota State to just 166. Payton's 47-yard touchdown run made it 38-7 early in the fourth quarter. He was 18-of-23 passing for 243 yards with an interception and ran 17 times for 137 yards. Luke Marble threw a 17-yard touchdown pass to Lofton O'Groske in the second quarter for the Jackrabbits.   Oregon Football   Jordon Davison ran for 102 yards and a pair of touchdowns and No. 6 Oregon overcame a slow start to hand Wisconsin its sixth straight loss with a lackluster 21-7 victory on a rainy Saturday night. Dante Moore threw for just 86 yards the Ducks (7-1, 4-1 Big Ten), who didn't score their first touchdown until late in the opening half. Moore left with an apparent face injury in the third quarter. Wisconsin avoided its third straight shutout with Hunter Simmon's 2-yard touchdown pass to Lance Mason with 7:57 to go in the game. The touchdown snapped a drought of 11 straight quarters without a point for the Badgers (2-6, 0-5). Wisconsin was coming off a 37-0 loss at home to Iowa and a 34-0 loss last weekend to No. 1 Ohio State, also at Camp Randall. The Badgers hadn't gone scoreless in three straight games since 1968.

Given Wisconsin's struggles, Oregon got off to an uncharacteristically slow start, with just 21 yards of total offense, including minus-16 rushing yards, and just two first downs in the first quarter. Oregon didn't manage to score until Davison's 3-yard touchdown run with 1:07 left in the first half. The Ducks opened the second half with Davison's 20-yard run for another score to make it 14-0. Moore took a knock to his face in the third quarter but kept his helmet on after being treated in the medical tent on the sideline. Backup Brock Thomas took over and threw a 1-yard touchdown pass to Gernorris Wilson early in the fourth. Wisconsin was missing many key players because of injuries, including its top two running backs, Dilin Jones and Darrion Dupree. The Badgers' leading tackler, linebacker Christian Alliegro, was also out as were the team's top two centers, Jake Renfro and Kerry Kodanko and punt returner Tyrell Henry and safety safety Preston Zachman. Wisconsin quarterback Billy Edwards has played just one full series since he was hurt in the opener. Simmons, a transfer from Southern Illinois who started the season as the team's third string quarterback, threw for 86 yards, a touchdown and an interception. - AP College Football

Miami Football   The first half was shaky. The second half was all Miami. Mark Fletcher Jr. rushed for 106 yards and a career-high three touchdowns, Miami's defense was airtight for much of the game and the ninth-ranked Hurricanes pulled away for a 42-7 win over Stanford on Saturday night. Carson Beck - coming off the first four-interception game of his career in last week's loss to Louisville - completed 21 of 28 passes for 189 yards and a touchdown to CJ Daniels for Miami (6-1, 2-1 Atlantic Coast Conference), while Jordan Lyle and Girard Pringle Jr. also ran for touchdowns. It was Miami's biggest victory margin in an ACC game since beating Duke 47-10 on Nov. 27, 2021. "Mark Fletcher showed why he's such a great player and why he's so important to this football team." Miami coach Mario Cristobal said. Miami had touchdowns on six of its last seven possessions; the one drive where it didn't score in that span saw the Hurricanes stopped on a fourth-down try at the Stanford 21. "Proud of the way our guys stuck with it," Cristobal said.

Malachi Toney had 138 all-purpose yards, 73 of them coming on a pair of punt returns for the Hurricanes. Miami passed for 205 yards and rushed for 199, outgaining Stanford 404-144. "That right there was the standard for University of Miami football," Toney said. Cole Tabb rushed for 64 yards for Stanford (3-5, 2-3) in the first-ever meeting between the Hurricanes and the Cardinal. Ben Gulbranson threw for Stanford's lone touchdown and completed five of his first six passes for 31 yards; he was 4-for-15 with two interceptions and only 19 yards the rest of the way. Stanford led 7-0 after one quarter and it was 7-7 at the half. The rest was all Miami, in a reversal of the game that Stanford interim coach Frank Reich - then the Maryland quarterback - had against the Hurricanes in 1984, when he rallied his team out of a 31-0 halftime hole and won 42-40. This time, the Hurricanes outscored the Cardinal 35-0 in the final 30 minutes. Stanford racked up 74 yards on its first drive - capped by a TD - then managed only 25 total yards on its next eight possessions combined. "I thought our defense did a pretty good job in the first half...and then they got after us real good in the second half," Reich said. - Miami/AP College Football

Landon Sims got the scoring started when he crashed in from the 1 with 2:43 left in the first quarter. Anderson's 22-yard touchdown pass to Michael Fitzgerald 45 seconds into the second quarter made it 14-0.
