  Akron Football   Matthew Schramm kicked four field goals, including a career-long 48-yarder, and Jordan Gant rushed for 86 yards to lead Akron over Bowling Green 19-16 in the final game of the season for both teams on Tuesday night. Gant finished with 1,032 on the season. Gant entered the game as the 13th-leading rusher (946 yards) in FBS football. After either side exchanged field goals in the first and second quarters, Schramm made his career best to open the third for the Zips (5-7, 4-4 Mid-American). The Falcons had the first touchdown when Hunter Najm found Jacob Harris for 21-yard strike at the 3:53 mark of the third. The Zips responded with a 75-yard touchdown strike on the next play from scrimmage with Ben Finley finding Israel Polk.

The Falcons (3-8, 1-6) defense forced a stop on three downs with 2:12 remaining. A 15-yard return from Brennan Ridley set up the Falcons at the Akron 42-yard line, but Najm threw an interception to Bruno Dall with a minute remaining. Gant broke free for an 18-yard carry to seal the result. Bowling Green finished with 272 yards of offense. The Falcons entered averaging 300.3 yards per game, 128th in FBS football. Both quarterbacks finished 9-of-26 passing with one touchdown. Finley had an interception. Najm threw two. It was a second-to-last-place MAC finish in a debut season for Bowling Green's Heisman Trophy-winning head coach, Eddie George.   Ohio Football   Sieh Bangura dashed for a career-high 196 yards rushing and scored two touchdowns, and Ohio took down UMass 42-14 on Tuesday night. Duncan Brune also ran for 84 yards and two touchdowns, and quarterback Parker Navarro added 81 yards and two scores to round out a 363-yard night on the ground for the Bobcats (7-4, 5-2 Mid-American Conference). Ohio entered ranked 19th in the FBS in rushing offense, averaging 202.7 yards per game. The Bobcats threw just eight passes against 57 rushing plays. The Minutemen scored first thanks to Owen Anderson's 10-yard touchdown grab, but Ohio would score on three of their first four drives for a 21-7 halftime lead. Elijah Pedro also had a 9-yard touchdown reception in the third quarter for UMass (0-11, 0-7). Grant Jordan and Brandon Rose each threw one touchdown pass and one interception.   Western Michigan Football   Jalen Buckley ran for 133 yards and two touchdowns, quarterback Broc Lowry ran for three touchdowns and Western Michigan rallied from an early deficit to beat Northern Illinois 35-19 on Tuesday night. Buckley amassed his yardage total on 24 carries, Lowry ran 13 times for 100 yards and Devin Miles went over 100 yards for the first time in his career at 105. Chavon Wright ran 21 times for 92 yards for Northern Illinois. Lowry's 18-yard scoring run a little past the midway point of the second quarter brought the Broncos (7-4, 6-1 Mid-American Conference) within 13-7.

Northern Illinois (3-8, 2-5) turned the ball over on downs after running six plays and gaining 20 yards. The Broncos followed that with a seven-play, 39-yard drive that ended when Buckley ran it in from the 8 with 40 seconds left before halftime for a 14-13 advantage. Lowry ran it in from the 8 midway through the third to make it 21-13. Buckley and Lowry each added 1-yard TD runs in the fourth to seal it. On the opening drive, Northern Illinois scored on a 43-yard touchdown run by Telly Johnson to give the Huskies a 7-0 lead. Two minutes later, Andrew Glass kicked a 39-yard field goal for a 10-0 lead. Western Michigan snapped a three-game losing streak in the series.   Illinois State Football   WEEK 12 MISSOURI VALLEY DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: LB Tye Niekamp, Illinois State, 6-3, 240, Jr., Normal, Ill. (Normal Community HS),...Niekamp recorded a new career-high with 16 tackles, which included nine solo stops against the Jackrabbits. Niekamp was also credited with a forced fumble and a pass breakup in the contest, as the Redbird defense forced three turnovers and tallied five sacks and 10 TFLs against SDSU. The 16 tackles tops his previous high of 14 set twice earlier this season, and Niekamp now has six double-digit tackling efforts on the year with four contests with 13 or more to give him 110 on the year. - Missouri Valley Football

  Youngstown State Football   WEEK 12 MISSOURI VALLEY OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: QB Beau Brungard, Youngstown State, 6-0, 215, Jr., New Middletown, Ohio (Springfield),...Brungard accounted for six more touchdowns in guiding the Penguins to a 48-29 win over Indiana State. He had three rushing scores in the first quarter and a half before following that up with three touchdown passes. In the first half he had short runs of eight, one and one yard before throwing TD passes of 20, two and five.   North Dakota Football   WEEK 12 MISSOURI VALLEY OFFENSIVE LINEMAN OF THE WEEK: OL Seth Anderson, North Dakota, 5th, 6-5, 300, Moorhead, Minn.,...In the 35-17 win at Murray State, Seth Anderson and North Dakota's offensive line helped the Fighting Hawks register 344 yards of offense, led by 213 yards on the ground. Sawyer Seidl paced the rushing attack with 96 yards and a touchdown on 22 attempts. Colton Brunell and Jerry Kaminski also had second-half touchdown runs in the victory. After just having 129 yards of offense in the first 30 minutes, the Fighting Hawks racked up 215 yards offensively in the second half and outscored the Racers by a 28-8 margin. (Racine-Horlick HS),...Fletcher had a breakout game for the Coyotes in the thrilling 53-51 win at (21) Southern Illinois. He led the team in carries (19) and rushing yards (104) in his first-career 100-yard rushing game, while pacing the USD rushing attack on the day. 12 of his carries came in the second half when the Coyotes found a way to score 20-unanswered points to take their first lead at 34-31 late in the fourth quarter. Nearly half his yards (46 yards) came in the fourth quarter when the freshman put the team on his back and carried the Yotes down the field multiple drives in a row for the chance to come back and win the contest. - Missouri Valley Football

The transfer from Cincinnati carried the ball a season-high 21 times for a season-best 116 yards and he added a touchdown in the victory over the Sycamores. Dawson averaged 5.5 yards per carry and scored his third touchdown of the year on a 6-yard run early in the second quarter that gave the Redbirds a 14-7 lead at the time. The senior from Waukesha, Wisconsin graded out at 90 percent and helped lead the way for Victor Dawson, who rushed for 101 yards on the ground.
