A member of Alabama's tight end group has entered the NCAA transfer portal. Junior Kedrick James went into the transfer portal Friday, according to a source. There was a decent amount of buzz at Alabama about James during the 2018 offseason. However, the Texas native didn't play much last year even before suffering an early season ankle injury and then failed an NCAA drug test leading up to the College Football Playoff, which led to him being suspended for the two playoff games as well as the first four games of this season.

The 6-foot-5, 260-pound James had a 29-yard touchdown catch-and-run during the Crimson Tide's spring game in April. "Kedrick is one of the freakiest guys on the team as far as physical prowess goes," tight end Miller Forristall said last year. "I mean, he's huge and he can run and he can jump, and I've seen him throw a ball like 65 yards standing still. He is athletically tremendously talented, and he's got huge potential." - Birmingham News
