  The Holy Cross football team will face Monmouth in the first round of the 2019 NCAA football championship subdivision playoffs. The Crusaders will play the Hawks on the road at Kessler Stadium in West Long Branch, N.J. The game will kickoff at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 30. Holy Cross will be playing in the postseason for only the fourth time in school history, while advancing to the NCAA playoffs for just the third time. The first postseason appearance for the Crusaders came in the 1946 Orange Bowl, when they lost 13-6 to Miami (Fla.). The only previous NCAA appearances for Holy Cross came in 1983 (28-21 home loss to Western Carolina in the quarterfinals) and 2009 (38-28 loss at Villanova in the first round). The Crusaders enter the playoffs after winning the 2019 Patriot League championship with an overall record of 7-5 and a 5-1 mark in the conference. Monmouth currently stands 10-2 overall and won the Big South Conference with a 6-0 mark in league games. - Holy Cross Football
