  A 71-yard touchdown run with 2:32 left in the game lifted No. 1 North Dakota State to a 23-16 victory over then-No. 3 South Dakota State. This was the Bison's 10th win in 16 matchups for the Dakota Marker trophy and their 29th straight victory. South Dakota State fell two spots to No. 5 in this week's AFCA FCS Coaches' Top 25 Poll. James Madison defeated then-No. 17 Towson, 27-10, to remain at No. 2. Weber State checks in at No. 3 following their 36-20 victory over then-No. 22 UC Davis.

The Wildcats will hit the road to take on No. 6 Sacramento State this week. Kennesaw State remains at No. 4 following its decisive 41-17 victory over North Alabama. The other Top 25 matchup sends No. 10 Northern Iowa to No. 7 Illinois State in another big Missouri Valley Football Conference game. Wofford makes its return to the Top 25 following a 35-34 overtime victory over Chattanooga and checks in at No. 20. The Terriers are joined by Southeast Missouri State, North Dakota and Austin Peay, who rejoin the Top 25 after brief absences at 21, 23 and 25, respectively. - American Football Coaches Association
