WEEK 5 NEC OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Tyler Riddell, Duquesne, Quarterback, Graduate Student, 6-1, 190, Tampa, FL/Chamberlain (Gardner-Webb)...Last Week's Stats: 15-23 completions, 201 passing yards, 3 passing touchdowns, 0 interceptions, 63 rushing yards, 8 carries, 7.9 yards per carry, 2 rushing touchdowns...Riddell was the ringleader of a Duquesne offense that put up seven touchdowns and scored 44 points in a 26-point win over New Haven on Saturday. The graduate signal caller accounted for five of the Dukes' scores after he threw for three touchdowns and rushed for two more. It marked Ridell's second five-touchdown outing this season as earlier this month, the Floridian threw for five scores against Lincoln on Sept. 6. Against the Chargers, he completed 15-of-23 passes for 201 yards and zero picks while adding a career-high 63 rushing yards on eight carries.

After New Haven opened the game with a score, Riddell connected with Joey Isabella on three consecutive drives for touchdown passes of two, six and 61 yards to make it a 28-6 lead in the third quarter. It marked his third game this season - and ninth of his career that also features stops at Gardner-Webb and ETSU - with three-or-more touchdown passes. Later in the game, he padded Duquesne's lead with touchdown runs of 10 and eight yards. Averaging 171.4 passing yards per game, Riddell is second in the NEC with 11 touchdown passes. This is his first career weekly award from the NEC. - NEC Football
