  WEEK 3 SUN BELT DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Ian Foster, Southern Miss (RS So., DB - Brundidge, Ala.),...Southern Miss redshirt sophomore defensive back Ian Foster carded a career-high 12 tackles as the Golden Eagles defeated App State, 38-22, in the Sun Belt Conference opener. The Brundidge, Ala., native snared a pass that bounced out of a Mountaineer receiver's hands and returned it for a 99-yard pick six in the second quarter. The interception was 1-of-3 red zone takeaways for the Southern Miss defense, while Foster's return was tied for the third-longest in program history. Foster tallied three pass breakups on the day, including two that ended App State possessions. - Sun Belt Football
