Traeshon Holden was reinstated to the Oregon football team Friday, coach Dan Lanning announced. Holden, a transfer from Alabama, was dismissed from the team Feb. 15 after he was arrested on charges of alleged unlawful use of a weapon, coercion and menacing for an altercation that occurred at the Gordon Lofts apartments in the Fifth Street Market area in the early morning hours of that same day. Lane County District Attorney Patricia Perlow chose not to prosecute Holden, saying in an email Monday "The evidence does not support charging Mr. Holden with any crime."Lanning reversed course as well, welcoming the 6-foot-3, 200-pound receiver back to the team. "Following the release of new information from the Lane County District Attorney's office, student-athlete Traeshon Holden has been reinstated to the Oregon football team," Lanning said in a statement released by the school Friday. "We will always take allegations of this nature very seriously. However, when new information is provided by authorities, such as in this instance, disciplinary action will be reevaluated and adjusted, when appropriate." Holden issued a statement through his attorney, Jacob Houze, saying "I'm happy to have been exonerated, and I'm looking forward to a great season with the Ducks." - Register Guard
