Treshaun Ward, a coveted running back transfer from Florida State, announced his intentions to continue his college football career at K-State via social media. The 5-foot-10, 189-pound back recently finished his sophomore season with the Seminoles and will join the Wildcats after rushing for 628 yards and seven touchdowns last year. He was at his best during his final game when he rushed for 81 yards and two touchdowns during a victory over Oklahoma in the Cheez-It Bowl. He ranked second on the team behind Trey Benson in rushing yardage in 2022.Ward originally walked-on to Florida State and spent four seasons there. He totaled 1,241 yards and 12 touchdowns with the Seminoles, and he has two years of eligibility remaining because he took a redshirt and played during the COVID-altered 2020 season. Ward chose K-State after visiting campus last week and receiving recruiting interest from some SEC schools. There is an obvious hole in K-State's backfield next season with Deuce Vaughn off to the NFL. The Wildcats must find a way to replace the 1,936 all-purpose yards and 12 touchdowns he produced while helping the team win 10 games and claim a Big 12 championship. That is one reason why a player like Ward was interested in joining the Wildcats. - The Kansas City Star
