OCT 31 MISSOURI VALLEY PLAYER OF THE WEEK NOMINEE: CB Jamal McMurrin, Missouri State - In his first career start, the former Washington State product posted his first career interception in Missouri State's historic homecoming win over Western Illinois on Saturday. McMurrin was instrumental in the Bears' breakthrough defensive performance that surrendered just 229 total yards on the day. McMurrin's second-quarter pick (and 29-yard return) set up a Bears touchdown two plays later and helped MSU take a 45-7 lead into the half. It was the most points the Bears have scored in an opening half since 1992. McMurrin also racked up three pass break-ups in the game -- the most by any MSU player this season -- and four passes defended. - Missouri Valley Football
