  OCT 31 BIG SOUTH FOOTBALL FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK: Gardner-Webb linebacker William McRainey (Shallotte, N.C.) made the most of his first career start with three catches for 78 yards and two touchdowns in Gardner-Webb's victory over Bryant. Entering the contest with just four receptions for 40 yards and no scores, Burns first tied the game at 14-14 with a 71-yard catch-and-run to end the first quarter. His second catch of the day was a 4-yard touchdown to put GWU ahead, 48-29, while his final reception resulted in a first down later in the fourth quarter. Also nominated for Freshman of the Week: Chaney Fitzgerald (Campbell) and Wesley Graves (North Carolina A&T). - Big South Football
