Vanderbilt football freshman quarterback AJ Swann is on track to return for the Commodores' Nov. 5 game against South Carolina, coach Clark Lea said on the SEC coaches teleconference Wednesday. Swann left Saturday's game against Missouri in the third quarter with an injury after a strip-sack and was replaced by backup Mike Wright. The Commodores (3-5, 0-4 SEC) lost the game, 17-14, and have an open week before facing the Gamecocks. "AJ is going to be battling back," Lea said. "I think he's in a good place right now. And of course, obviously, these things take time. And so I feel like we have time and he'll be in a position - my expectation is that he'll be playing against South Carolina. Obviously, we have to give him a chance to heal and to demonstrate that he's ready." - Tennessean
