No. 2 Montana State built a 43-24 lead midway through the third quarter and held on against a charging Weber State team for a 43-38 victory. The Bobcats remain at No. 2 in this week's AFCA FCS Coaches' Top 25 Poll while Weber State dropped just two spots to No. 7. The Wildcats had a crazy day on special teams. They had a 100-yard kickoff return touchdown and a 91-yard punt return touchdown but had three safeties from snaps into the endzone on punts, which all occurred in the first half.

After trailing Weber State 24-9 in the second quarter, Montana State was able to capitalize on the safeties and follow them up with touchdowns to take a 27-24 lead at half. South Dakota State still sits at No. 1 after a 49-35 win over a tough North Dakota team. No. 3 Sacramento State had to come from behind to beat then-No. 7 Montana, 31-24 in overtime. This was Montana's second straight loss which caused them to fall No. 11. North Dakota State was idle and stayed at No. 4 while undefeated Jackson State moves up to the No. 5 spot. The Tigers are 7-0 after a 22-14 win over Campbell. - American Football Coaches Association
