Linebacker Daylen Gill has routinely impressed throughout the preseason, and flashed the most out of the 10 transfer additions during Tuesday's scrimmage. The headline play came in a short-yardage situation, when Gill exploded through the line of scrimmage to blow up a fullback dive. "I'm glad he's on our team," Hall said. The Ole Miss transfer showcased a tremendous engine, and earned additional praise from Hall for the physicality he showed while taking reps with the first-team defense. It should be noted, though, that Santrell Latham sat out the scrimmage with a slight injury, so it remains to be seen exactly how that room will shake out. "I think Daylen has had a really good camp," Armstrong said. "Daylen's very, very fluid in the hips. He can finish plays...He can be locked into a blocker and engage and play. "He's got thousands of fewer reps than these other guys, but he's doing a good job." - Clarion Ledger
