  SEPT 16/WEEK 3 BIG SOUTH DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Kennesaw State defensive lineman Joel Parker (Birmingham, Ala.) tallied a team-high eight tackles - all solo, and tied the Big South single-game record with 6.0 tackles-for-loss for minus-48 yards in the Owls' win at Alabama State. He recorded 3.0 sacks (minus-24 yards) and helped KSU hold the Hornets to just 202 yards of offense and seven points. Also nominated for Defensive Player of the Week: Darien Reynolds (Gardner-Webb), Christian Angulo (Hampton) and Anthony Budd (Monmouth). - Big South Football
