Rutgers is bringing in a big-time transfer with a familiar background. The Scarlet Knights have landed Texas A&M defensive line transfer Jahzion Harris, a person with knowledge of the situation told NJ Advance Media. A four-star recruit in the class of 2021, the 6-foot-4, 220-pound edge rusher has four years of eligibility remaining after redshirting his freshman season in College Station last fall. Despite a late entrance into the transfer portal - he went in on Thursday, July 28, which is nearly three months after the May 1 deadline for players to transfer and be eligible for the following season - Harris is expected to be immediately eligible for the 2022 season, the person said. Harris will supplement one of the strongest units on Rutgers' roster and will help fill the void left when top edge rusher Mohamed Toure suffered a season-ending knee injury in the spring. - Star Ledger
