Potential impact of wide receiver transfer Jordan Addison: Did USC need Addison? No. Did it want Addison? You bet. USC's wide receiver unit was pretty well stocked after an early transfer run that yielded it Mario Williams, Brenden Rice and Terrell Bynum to add with returning starters Gary Bryant Jr. and Tahj Washington. But the unit lacked a proven No. 1 wideout and could've used more veteran leadership. Addison, a projected first-round pick, fills those areas in droves as the nation's best wide receiver last season not named Drake London.

Addison will draw the majority of the attention from defenses, which will open up the rest of the pass catchers to make plays. He's not the biggest receiver, but the All-American has verified 4.4 speed, can beat defenses deep and might have the best hands on the team. He is also a versatile chess piece for Riley's offense, capable of playing outside, in the slot or being motioned around the formation. Addison is a plug-and-play starter who could end the season as the best wide receiver in the nation. - 247 Sports
