Jaxon Smith-Njigba could be highest-drafted OSU WR since Terry Glenn. He finished with 95 catches for 1,606 yards and nine touchdowns in 2001. The receiving yards are the most in a season for a Buckeye, breaking David Boston's record. Smith-Njigba had already broken Boston's then single-game reception record of 15 earlier in the 2021 season against Nebraska. He matched that mark in the Rose Bowl.

If Smith-Njigba is selected in the top five of the 2023 NFL draft, he would be the first Buckeye to be selected in the top five. The highest-drafted receiver in Ohio State history was Terry Glenn, who was selected No. 7 by the New England Patriots in 1996. Smith-Njigba broke Glenn's Ohio State single-game receiving yards record in the Rose Bowl. He also broke a 37-year old Cris Carter bowl game reception record. If selected in the top 15 of the first round, it would mean the 2021 Ohio State Buckeyes had three future top-15 picks at receiver. - Columbus Dispatch
