Stroud might be Ryan Day's perfect quarterback, in turn making him Ohio State football's best NFL prospect. His 6-foot-3, 218-pound frame makes him the prototypical size teams dream of having. He can make all of the throws, has poise in the pocket and can buy time with his feet when he needs to. That was all on display during his first season as the starter when he threw for 4,435 yards and 44 touchdowns while completing 71.9% of his passes. If there's one knock against Stroud's game, it's that his ability - and sometimes desire - to make plays with his legs is often non-existent. But that's a description that comes with the territory of practically every quarterback who's won the sport's most important trophy: None of them are the supreme athletes whose highlights will dominate social media.

That's because they've got a trait that's even more valuable: supreme football IQ. "That's the thing I love about football is that you can actually put in the work and go see it and put it on the field," Stroud said. "I love meeting. I love talking about this stuff. I love the verbiage. I love challenging myself." Stroud is a football mind. One conversation with him is enough to see how he views the game, and why he's able to anticipate and complete throws in places some pros wouldn't try. Just like supreme athleticism can't be taught, neither can that level of understanding. That trait is why at the peak of Peyton Manning's career, he was often given multiple plays at the line of scrimmage and picked which one he wanted to run based on what he saw. That trait is why Tom Brady is a seven-time Super Bowl champion. - Cleveland Plain Dealer
