Minnesota Golden Gophers running back Mar'Keise Irving announced on Twitter that he is transferring to Oregon. As a freshman last season, Irving led Minnesota with 966 all-purpose yards. He also rushed for 699 yards (ranked 12th in the Big Ten) and four touchdowns on 133 carries. Before his time at Minnesota, Irving was a star at Hillcrest High School in Country Club Hills, Illinois, as had 3,264 rushing yards and 587 receiving yards. In his final year in high school, Irving rushed for 1,733 yards and 22 touchdowns as he was a four-star recruit, according to 247Sports. Irving will join a loaded Oregon backfield with four other scholarship running backs on its roster. Byron Cardwell and Sean Dollars participated with the Ducks this spring. Oregon will also have 2022 commit Jordan James joining the team in June. - Register Guard
