  SEPT 27 BIG SOUTH DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Gardner-Webb linebacker William McRainey (Shallotte, N.C.) finished with a game-high 17 tackles (12 solo, 5 assisted) with 1.0 tackle-for-loss, a pass break-up and forced a fumble in Gardner-Webb's 52-34 win over Western Carolina. He played all 99 of the team's defensive snaps, and his forced fumble in the first quarter was recovered by GWU at its own 32-yard line. McRainey had nine tackles in the second half, when the Runnin' Bulldog defense held WCU to just 14 points and none in the fourth quarter.
