As the Cowboys wrapped up their first week of spring practice, the message to Spencer Sanders - who is in his fourth year in the program and third as starting quarterback - was clear. "We want to be a top-10 passing team in the country," OSU offensive coordinator Kasey Dunn said. "Plain and simple. So we've got to be able to throw the football. And that's the direction it's going." Spencer Sanders' passing statistics were remarkably similar from 2019 to 2020. In both seasons, Sanders completed exactly 155 of 247 passes, for 2,065 yards in 2019 and 2,007 yards in 2020, with a TD/interception ratio of 16/11 in 2019 and 14/8 in 2020. Holding the MVP trophy from the Cheez-It Bowl in December, Spencer Sanders had firmed up his grip on Oklahoma State's starting quarterback job. Sanders turned in his best performance of the year in the season's final game, showing the consistency, accuracy and game management the Cowboys needed from their leader. - Daily Oklahoman
