Aaron Beasley's suspension from Tennessee football will continue "until the process is able to unfold and facts are found out," Vols coach Josh Heupel said Thursday. Beasley, a junior linebacker, was cited Tuesday for animal cruelty by Knox County animal control personnel, a Knoxville Police Department spokesperson told Knox News. "As soon as we found out the information that came to us (Monday), we suspended him until the process is able to unfold and facts are found out," Heupel said. "At that time, once we have the information, we will make a long-term decision at that point." The police spokesperson indicated the animal cruelty citation is a class A misdemeanor, which is punishable by up to 11 months, 29 days in jail and/or fines up to $2,500. Beasley was accused of abusing a 6-month-old cat, according to an incident report filed April 1 with the police. - Knoxville News Sentinel
