Ohio State football's defensive line benefited greatly the past two seasons from players who came back for breakthrough senior seasons. Tyreke Smith will try to become the next. The defensive end announced Monday night he will put off the NFL Draft to return to the Buckeyes for his senior season. Ohio State football looked for one of its second and third-year defensive ends to help fill the void left by Chase Young's departure. Instead, that breakout came from fifth-year senior Jonathon Cooper, who became a second team All-American. Smith totaled only eight tackles, a sack and three quarterback hurries over seven games. But he contributed to one of the nation's best run defenses and continued to flash the potential for more as a pass rusher. - Cleveland Plain Dealer
