Shaun Wade came back to Ohio State football in 2020 to make himself a more complete cornerback and help the Buckeyes win the national championship. Now he departs to join the impressive list of Buckeye alums in NFL secondaries. Wade announced Friday he will enter the 2020 NFL Draft, forging his final season of eligibility. Wade nearly entered last year's draft, and also at one point opted out prior to the 2020 season to begin draft preparations before reconsidering.

Wade came back to Ohio State in part to make the transition from slot cornerback to outside. Regardless of his All-America credentials, that change did not go as smoothly as he or the Buckeyes had hoped. While he gained additional experience outside, Wade's role at the NFL level could range anywhere from cornerback - possibly back in the slot or as a nickel back - to safety. - Cleveland Plain Dealer
